Without exception, every member of staff we interacted with was friendly and very accommodating. Would definitely stay there again.

Perfect place for an overnight stay when working in Southampton Area, single rooms are small but perfectly acceptable, like the fact that there is plenty of parking

Our room was clean, warm and well-lit. We had selected a superior twin, but the view from the room was dreadful ! We were next to the boiler and there was ducting all over, rubbish and the exterior of the building at the back is very shabby. Just to note - there are no usb sockets in the room, so you need to bring your own adapter. There is also no phone - I suppose because everyone has their own these days. The furniture was all dark wood, which is fitting for the age and style of the building, but there were no coasters or mats for hot drinks, which was worrying for putting a mug on the bedside table. We had to use magazines. There was only one comfy chair. The room service was a bit below par - no spare toilet roll, glasses were not washed and beds were not made. Breakfast was good, choice of food was good and service was good. Tables and cutlery etc were all clean and tidy. We had one evening meal in the restaurant, which we booked prior with reception. I had a confirmation email, but the time was totally wrong, so I had to go and tell them. They said, not to worry, they would inform chef what time we would actually be dining. When we arrived at the restaurant, they had no record of our booking. Service was chaos, in spite of there only being three couples dining. Fist choice of food was unavailable, and we waited 45 mins for mains. No-one returned to ask us if the meal was okay, which it wasn't. No-one asked if we wanted desert, so we left.

Stayed 3 weeks in a row, week three I was put in room 60. Very uncomfortable bed, had an odd smell in the room. Shame as the previous two rooms were perfectly lovely.

Well the hotel is pleasant and characterful. The heating was stuck on in the room with only a small window to open. Unbearable poor nights sleep. On complaining nothing could be done apparently so we were moved to another room. Which was much better.

Overall the property needs updating, it was very clean when you consider that it does need a lot of work doing to fetch it up to a good standard. However good value for money and comfy beds.

Breakfast was excellent but the spa and pool were closed which is the main reason I booked. It would have been good to have that information before i booked

Solo traveller on business with this being the 4th different hotel in a week. Nice warm welcome and friendly staff. Had an executive double which was spacious and the bed was very comfy. It’s an old hotel with wood panelling in the bar and restaurant which tells you the type of character property this is. Stayed on a £40 half board rate which gave me £25 food & drink allowance for dinner… this is a bit rubbish as the cheapest main was £19 and a pint was £6 so that was the allocation gone. They obviously make money on the starters and dessert's but this is wrong in my opinion, I understand there are supplements with most of these deals but at least give a guests a choice of 2 or 3 courses so they at least have a feeling of value. I had fish and chips and it was Ok, not brilliant which makes me feel like I’ve been taken advantage of. Would I stay here again, probably not but for a business stopover close to my first meeting, it was fine.

Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and tastefully furnished. The hotel is advertised as Spa with pool. But the pool is undergoing a major refurb. This is only notified on the day of check in. So it’s a bit disingenuous to advertise the pool. I’m sure it will be fine once it’s operational.

Spa is no longer in use, but I was not informed of this before my visit. No information confirming this on their website, socials, or 3rd party booking sites.

Afternoon tea lovely. Rooms clean & very spacious but in need of a decor upgrade. Pool nice and warm but can get very overcrowded with kids. Hot tub and sauna not working and changing rooms very tatty and in need of immediate upgrade and clean.

We went there with some friends for an afternoon tea which was fantastic, the food was lovely. We stayed overnight and our room was very spacious clean and tidy. The only thing I would say was the spa area was terrible, the changing rooms were not very nice, the changing room doors were broken, the lockers were in a terrible state and the windows around the pool had lots of leaks, moldy and not fitted properly. But otherwise all good.

Room spacious and clean. Bed was huge and so comfortable. Food was nice. Breakfast was nice the only slightly negative thing was glasses and plates were not replenished we had to ask for that to be done despite 2 staff being in the area. Otherwise cannot fault the hotel . staff were welcoming at reception

Room was clean and dry, but light for bathroom was motion sensor and kept going off all night. No spoon for the tea/coffee but the kettl didn’t flick off once boiled either. Last day the continental breakfast had no bowls out for the cereal or plates for toast.
