Very clean, staff were excellent, food was beautiful, the bar was busy friendly and very efficient

Basic but adequate. Stair carpet needs a lot of renewal. Bath chipped and overflow broken. Staff tried to fix but no handyman over weekend

The location of The Royal Hotel was perfect for walking around the harbor and sightseeing. The staff were very friendly and helpful, recommending great places to eat and things to see/do while we were in Oban.

I had a lovely stay at The Royal Hotel Oban the first room was a bit tired but look past that and appreciate how clean it was bed towel tip top. The second room was very clean also bathroom had been upgraded very nice. Staff were all very helpful but the creme del a creme breakfast a lovely selection of very well prepared food if anyone finds fault could you ask them what they have at home

Whilst the interior is a little old, everything is clean, safe and in working order. Ideal for business stays or overnights.

My partner & i were in Oban for a few days decided to stay an extra night, clean room but very dated,£116 room only for one night, much better options in Oban for the same price or around £20 more, The staff were very helpful we couldn't fault them.

The room was adequate no headboards on beds, room sparse, The TV should be mounted on the wall, furniture dated but clean. Bathroom good size, good shower but the shower gel looked as it had been left behind by last occupant. Disappointed with breakfast no fruit salad and when asked for poached eggs the staff could not provide (really) Overall underwhelming and would not recommend.

Staff member at reception on arrival was super friendly and made some great recommendations of things to do during our stay. The room was a great size and clean. We throughly enjoyed breakfast most morning. Food was hot and a good selection of hot items were available. There wasn't a great selection of Continental items available. But what was there was fresh and tasty.

Clean and comfortable if a little dated - close to station and ferry terminal. Suggestion for the hotel staff to open a window before check in when the weather is warm as this proved a bit tricky on arrival

The staff were excellent vrry helpful and friendly. The rooms and common areas were very clean if a bit tired. A bit of TLC is would be a cracking hotel in a great part of the town.

Hotel is central to Oban and within easy reach of restaurants and other visitor attractions. Hotel is somewhat dowdy and this is particularly clear in the public area and the stair carpet, (threadbare in parts), leading to the second floor, (where my room was), which did not make a great impression. My room itself was generally satisfactory and roomy, having opted for the 'Superior Double Room' for an extra £5. Room heating was turned up full when I entered, which I had to turn down. The lack of double glazing in my room (and probably the other rooms...!) suggests that money is flying out the windows...! Staff were very friendly and helpful on arrival and during my short stay. I did not try the breakfast or bar so cannot comment on either.

Reception staff helpful but restaurant staff could do with a wee bit of training. We didn't know it was help yourself in our first morning at breakfast. We weren't asked if everything was ok. Not even a thank you and have a nice day Rooms were clean and comfortable.

Really overpriced £200 room for 3 the breakfast was not worth it just go into the town it's just a basic place to stay very dowdy restaurant like a staff canteen poor choice ! The only good thing the view to the sea

Genuinely one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in. If it was £90 I wouldn't have complained, but £160 for one night for something that is less well looked after than my nans care home is ridiculous

As I have stayed at this hotel on many occasions before, I would not have rebooked again if there had been a problem'

A good location to train and ferry. Not a hotel with a view however. Comfortable though small room. Good breakfast.
