The building is old with sloping floors, but very cool with a great story and history, the staff was amazing, the cocktail bar with the live jazz band was stunning, the rooms were quaint, but in need of update, the location is great, you can walk everywhere to see shops, tourist stuff, amazing street art, etc. The parking building is a bit of a hike, but you can stop outside to drop off and pick up people and bags. There is a spa pool and sauna, but we were disappointed that it was closed for the weekend and because of the public holiday, as it is used as a selling point on the marketing of the hotel.

Fantastic Hotel in a central location to explore Cork. The bar is wonderful as well. I usually don’t eat breakfast in my hotel, but the breakfast at the Imperial was wonderful.

Although we'd booked a month in advance, I felt we were provided with an inferior room. The floor had a noticeable slant towards the bathroom. Yes, it's an older hotel and these things happen, but the hotel wasn't busy (so there were probably better rooms) and you could have shimmed the bed so that it wasn't also tilted. Secondly, the toilet wouldn't flush. Even though we reported this to the front desk, it was never repaired. I had to crank the handle 5 or 6 times to get it to flush. It's 2025 - you can buy very efficient low-flush toilets that both save water and operate effectively. I won't recommend this property

We are having trouble understanding where to park, one of the assistant managers helped us located the parking garage by accompanying us in our car and we making back to the hotel sharing options in the area - quite an above the ordinary service - sorry I do not recall his name - the other service was excellent too.

Pros: bed was very comfortable and the room spacious. Cons: check in didn’t tell us about the complimentary coffee in the lobby and insisted we move the car right away to the remote car park. There were threadbare towels and the climate control was wonky. Should be much better for price point.

We were quoted half the price on Expedia, but when we arrived we were told it would be double what we were quoted and that breakfast was not included, nor was the spa, which was also mentioned in Expedia. Probably this is more a disappointment with Expedia, but just wanted people to know that things are not what they seem. The hotel is beautiful but the room was not great and the floor was so slanted that we had issues walking around the room and our suitcase actually rolled when placed against the one wall! Sensed the impending doom of a collapsed floor ha ha

This is a very old hotel and they do a fabulous job. My onlyissue is with the bar. They give table service to tables picked by the manager, but not to others. We waited 20 mins, and the server helpjng the table near us wouldn't so mu ch as look at us. I had to go to the bar to order, and they wouldn't substitute ingredients on any drinks. Very poor leadership and i would never return.

This is not a 5 star hotel. The rooms are small and basic. Sure, the entrance hall is stunning and decor is fancy, but the rooms are 3 star material. Found old frayed cigarette butts on our window sill that fell onto the carpet and you have to pay to use the spa facilities. Not worth the cash. Staff were friendly.

We have stayed in the Imperial a number of times, and always enjoy our stay. Staff are wonderful, the rooms are very comfortable and clean, food is excellent. This time, we were in Room 121 - note that this room does not have a proper window! There are two frosted glass windows with curtains, you cannot see outside. The room is very dark regardless of the time of day. I would highly recommend the hotel, just not this room.

The staff are very nice, friendly and well trained. The need to get a better system going with booking taxis though. It was confusing. Waiting outside, no one knew what taxi was for whom. I booked a taxi the day before and the taxi was late and it had to be re-ordered or contacted/reminded to pick me up. The hotel facilities were good and I would stay there again. I would recommend this hotel.

Beautiful hotel, with historical significance. The only draw back was that the elevator for our room area was down the 2 nights we were there, causing a slight inconvenience.

Expected more. Disappointed that when room was turned down rubbish wasn’t removed, toilet rolls wernt replaced, iron was left out etc from this standard of hotel you would expect all of the above, dusty in areas, staff were slow but friendly. Bathroom needed some desperate tlc, shower leaking, difficult to use. Location is the only thing that would make us stay again.

Rooms had air conditioning, and wash cloths. Bed was 7/10 a little hard. Parking was a bit away from the hotel and there were roads closed due to construction to get to the parking lot, so tricky to find the lot, but convenient once we did.Hotel overall was very nice and had a beautiful bar, restaurant and coffee shop.I would recommend.

Stepped into the charm of The Imperial Hotel Cork City, where modern boutique luxury meets over 200 years of history! Enjoyed the spacious room and indulged in a little pampering at the spa. An excellent afternoon tea too. Hungry? Take your pick from our on site dining spots, Lafayette’s and No.76 bar. Nestled in the heart of Cork’s buzzing pedestrian zone, just a stone’s throw from the world-famous English Market and the city’s shopping streets, Patrick Street and Oliver Plunkett Street. The Imperial is Cork’s very first hotel—so you’re literally stepping into history!
