The property overall was very poorly maintained. The water did not drain properly from either the sink or the bathtub. Although we arrived late in the afternoon, the room electricity was not working. Considering the overall experience, the property was extremely overpriced.

Hotel was average. The room was so bright because there were no blinds. Needs to be modernised and refurbished. Good location for central Catania.

No hand or face towels No iron Negatives: Shower sprays all over & puddles everywhere no extra towels to absorb the water on the floor. No hot water in the bathroom sink. Erratic WiFi Flat pillows Insane noise every morning woken up by the garbage pick up directly below our window. Our last morning there we could not eat breakfast because it was so crowded there was nowhere to sit.

Hotel was in a great location for the historic centre. The room was clean and as it was ready when I arrived I was checked long before normal time

The bedding needs to be majorly upgraded. Need new linens better pillows a stylish comfortable coverlet and better mattress or mattered pad. It was a very uncomfortable sleep for a quite high priced hotel. Also the shower is terrible with mould and rust and it leaks. Breakfast and location are lovely

The location is conveniently located with tons of restaurants to choose from. The building is pretty dated so don’t expect anything too modern. The WiFi doesn’t really work which is fine with me. We did have a situation that no towel was provided and there were no bedding for the sofa bed. The staff came with us and quickly fix that. Overall a good experience.

This is a wonderful, clean older hotel near the heart of the city. The only BIG problem is PARKING. But the staff helps with that.

Il Principe is one of the best located hotels in Catania, close to all the main sights and easy walking distance to Square, Monastery, Fish Market etc. The Staff were exceptionally helpful . The reception area's, and Breakfast room had plenty of space and nicely decorated with marble. 2 person lift to all floors. The hotel had somewhere for the luggage on our last day. There was alway someone on reception. The area was quiet and felt safe. Breakfast had a good variety, hot scrambled eggs or boiled, bacon, mushrooms. Cold ham and cheese, yogurts, cereals, croissants. Fruit juice and coffee. The room was a good size and double aspect. Our room had a shower, which was adequate but could have done with updating. Bed was large but a little firmer than we are used to. Towels, hairdryer etc provided. Air conditioning was excellent. Unfortunately there was no kettle or coffee maker in the room, although there was a fridge and safe. I don't think we could have got a hotel that was in a better spot, ideal to pop back to in the day for a rest.

Everything was super, but internet was really bad. I was disconnected every 3 minutes

This hotel location is good but everything else was not good. Our van can’t come to hotel so had to pay extra to bring the laggaue to hotel

Good and peaceful base for exploring central Catania. No traffic noise as hotel is on a small cul-de-sac. Rooms are large and bathroom in 321 had a full bath. Staff were helpful and friendly. Aircon in our room was not working . Toilet seat had come loose . Bed was large and firm. Overall a decent space . TV was LG and fairly modern. Only had Italian channels.

Fabulous location but hotel needs a lot of maintenance, ie most of the lifts were broken and our mini fridge was extremely noisy so had to unplug it. Shower ok but drained very slowly. Sheets ok but bedcover very very old and didn’t want to touch

Room not clean, bathroom in particular. Air con did not work. Need investment as very dated

Unfortunately this hotel has seen better days! Hallway carpets were disgusting/dirty, and the room was not much better. The photos on Hotels.com do not relate to the reality of what is the hotel. On a positive note, the women who checked me into the property was very nice!

The room was okay. It needs a few upgrades. Bathroom shower head was leaking water from the base and as a result the pressure was compromised. It would have been excellent if they had a kettle and tea/ coffee in the room . Overall the room was in good condition despite the age of the hotel . It was clean and comfortable. A/C worked good. Hot and cold water was good. Room was quiet, but lacked outlets close to the bed for charging phones etc. Great location . Front office was very professional and accommodating and recommended many areas around town and best places for food. It was much appreciated.

Un Soggiorno Davvero Eccezionale all'Hotel Il Principe Mio marito ed io abbiamo vissuto un'esperienza meravigliosa all'Hotel Il Principe. Dal momento del nostro arrivo, il personale ci ha fatto sentire veramente accolti e curati. L'hotel stesso è elegante, confortevole e perfettamente posizionato, ma ciò che lo distingue davvero è il livello del servizio. Durante il nostro soggiorno, abbiamo avuto difficoltà a trovare biglietti per una partita del Catania Football Club, un momento clou che speravamo davvero di vivere. Il team alla reception ha fatto di tutto, cercando instancabilmente fino ad aiutarci a ottenere i posti. Grazie a loro, eravamo allo stadio per vedere il Catania segnare due volte e vincere negli ultimi minuti, diventando uno dei momenti più memorabili di tutto il nostro viaggio. Abbiamo apprezzato così tanto il nostro soggiorno che abbiamo prenotato altre notti per il nostro ritorno a Catania prima di tornare a casa. È raro trovare un hotel dove ci si sente sia ben curati che veramente apprezzati come ospiti. Torneremo sicuramente all'Il Principe alla nostra prossima visita in Sicilia e lo raccomanderemo con tutto il cuore a amici e familiari. — Matthew e Grant Rocco
