Nice hotel in quiet , scenic location

Nice landscape all around. Too much stairs however

A quiet hotel in the middle of a golf course, easy to reach and friendly staff. Excellent traditional breakfast and comfortable beds. Property itself a little tired but that’s probably part of the charm. Delighted to have been upgraded. I’d recommend for the area.

we did upgrade the room which was nothing like in the picture ,nonethe less was comfortable and clean with very good views.the staff were beyond reproach very helpfull and very very polite at all times,did find that the rooms were not easy to find ,but the exercise was good up and down all those stairs to get there regards eddie

Fabulous grounds and beautiful old building. Very comfy bed and room. Breakfast selection was excellent. Pool and spa facilities were very good. However bathroom cleanliness let it down - needed a bleach around the shower fittings and there was some dirt and mould on the back of the door. Also service in the afternoon at the restaurant - sat on the patio to have a drink, there was no one around and each time i wanted a drink i had to go and find a member of staff. Pool check in service was surly and could have been friendlier and pointed out where the facilities were.

Traditional and comfortable

Absolutely amazing... definitely will be booking again. Can not fault. Grounds. Food. Amazing evening meal on Saturday. Service. Facilities. staff. Rooms. all exceptional Well done..

We had a fantastic stay! The amenities were excellent, the family room was spacious, and the breakfast was delicious. The only downside was the noise from the neighboring room at night, which seemed to be due to inadequate soundproofing.

Fabulous hotel, with really great staff, who care.

Our stay was lovely. However not as relaxing / enjoyable as other Marriott’s we have stayed at. Due to:- 1. Not enough staff to service the bar. Had to wait 20 mins to order a cup of coffee and then gave up. 2. No supervision of too many children in spa causing havoc and a lot of noise. 3. No drinking cups at water station. 4. Spa area not clean / people allowed to wander in / out in shoes. 5. Showers not clean or serviced as had hair and litter in. 6. No credit card details taken at check in so couldn’t charge bar / food to room. 7. Lots of steps and no lift to so made it difficult to access all areas if have mobility issues. 8. Lots of staff seem young / inexperienced. I asked for some cups to use the one fountain in spa and was told to go into bar in my wet costume and a towel. 9. No body servicing the outside area for drinks / food. 10. Rooms were clean but lots of corridors and steps / stairs up and down to get to reception / restaurant.

Room was ok, good bed and pillows. Rubbish left in the drawers. Incredibly noisy extractor fan in the bathroom, and no soft lights, you couldn’t take a relaxing bath or shower. TV ancient - no Netflix etc. Spa was poor. Overcrowded swimming pool, jacuzzi, steam room all rammed with people. Staff there were pretty unhelpful. Breakfast was really good though, spot on.

The place was gorgeous! The staff were helpful. We only stayed for 1 night but was a special night celebrating partners birthday, they put a balloon in the room for us and also gave a happy birthday dessert to my missus! Made it just that little more special. The beds were comfy with good choice of pillows! View was nice also from room. Pool facilities were nice! Only downside was if wanted to sit on a bed you couldnt as people at towels on them to 'use' them even though everyone was in the pool or away. Would stay here again! Lovely place! Thank you

Beautiful setting, great facilities. Restaurant food was amazing though expensive. Pool facilities very clean

Service was great, breakfast was delicious and the staff were really helpful. Amazing views, lovely to walk around the grounds.

On arrival was warm and welcoming, got to our room the furdest one possible the tv did not work and had to contact to get it fixed. The swimming pool was great. Wanted to have a shower in the morning but no hot water. Just think we did not get our money worth
