Disappointed in food offerings at breakfast and dinners. Only 1 entree available so no real choice. Also no dessert provided with dinners.

We enjoyed our stay. Great location.

This property exceeded my expectation. The staff were warm, friendly, and very helpful. The morning breakfast was extensive, coma in the afternoon was a delight, and the evening meal was delicious. My room was spacious, well lit, clean, and the bed was extremely comfortable. The location was excellent, walking distance to shopping and many dining establishments as well as museums in Bergen. Highly recommend.

Great central location with breakfast and dinner buffet included. Beautiful old building with a lot of history. Bergen center being easy to get around and with their diverse weather which runs from heavy downpours to sunshine in June, it’s lovely to be able to drop back to the hotel to dry off and warm up with unlimited complimentary tea and coffee in the very comfortable lounge. And head back out. The staff were all super friendly and helpful. It’s definitely worth the splurge as I think it pays for itself with breakfast, coffee and cake in the afternoon and buffet dinner.

The room was basically good and the hotel is in a great location. On our arrival we found two problems - first, the sliding door to the bathroom was off its rails and stuck open. We had to wait till the following day for it to be fixed. The whole door arrangement cheapened the look of what was otherwise a comfortable room. The second problem was the shower faucet. It was a fairly standard that you had to switch the water from the bath faucet to shower head. Problem was that it didn’t work, without of the water going down the bath and limited water to the shower. It was not fixed during our stay. A related problem was that the shower head screen didn’t seal against the bath, so there was always water on the floor after a shower. We didn’t report this problem.

Had a wonderful time during our stay at the hotel. The original hotel we had booked was shut down due to the strike, but we were very lucky to have stayed here instead. The rooms had amazing views of the port and were very spacious. The rooms were clean and well maintained, and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was also excellent, with wide selection of food and well decorated. Would stay here again if we visit Bergen again!

Everything about our experience was wonderful except the weather, which we were expecting. Had hoped for clear weather for our hike from Mount Ulriken to Floyen. Unfortunately cool, rain and clouds. We were there so hiked it anyway. A bit of a challenge but still fun. The hotel was warm and accommodating on our return.

Very nice breakfast and dining area with great food selection. Exceptional help at check-in & check-out. Will be back.

Room was great - very clean. Breakfast was all we could have wanted and more! There was a strike on but the staff were incredibly helpful and welcoming. Roof tower is amazing and well worth asking for the key to go up and have a look. Would definitely stay here again if we return to Bergen!

The Staff

We were fortunate to have chosen Home Hotel during the strike - other hotels were closed. It’s a lovely hotel with a great location. The management did an excellent job keeping the service level high without having enough staff. The view, breakfast and sauna were great additions to our stay. This must be an amazing stay when fully staffed.

The entire staff was fabulous, and I must give an emphasis to the general manager and the manager of the hotel. Unfortunately, there was a strike for most I believe of the workers in the hotel and the two ladies that were the manager and general manager helped in any way possible and made my wife and I feel right at home.

The whole experience was wonderful from the food down to all of the staff that helped us out in so many ways.

At the time of our visit there was a strike and they were unable to serve dinner or provide you with 100% service . BUT those working did a fantastic job and have to be commended . They were brilliant and provided an excellent breakfast and looked after all the guests.This meant we enjoyed an excellent stay and would most certainly return . Well done to you all especially the general manager . Thank you .

Lovely hotel in a good location with the friendliest and most helpful staff.

The staff was amazing, so helpful and friendly. As we were boarding a cruise they stored our luggage for a couple of hours after checking out. The historic hotel itself was beautiful and well appointed. A small bar in the lobby and a gas fireplace in a cozy corner was delightful at day’s end. Very comfortable bed and chairs in room and dimmable lighting. A great location for touring and cruise pier, highly recommend!

The staff made us feel like family. Rosa, Hilde, Amalie, and Souad were always available and helpful when needed. The breakfast was amazing, especially the coffee refills and the omelets. The hotel facilities were very clean and the lobby was a comfortable place to sit and have a coffee, tea or drink depending on what we felt like. We cannot wait to return.

The hotel location was great, and the staffs provided excellent service. The breakfast was so good. I would rate it a 5-star hotel!
