Room was on ground floor and not great. Staff a bit indifferent.

Great hotel and beach

This is at best a 3 star hotel that has a 5 star beach. The rooms are very basic and quite dated. Breakfast was horrible and there is no fresh coffee, you can only get some from a dispenser machine until the pool bar opens later in the day. The staff was friendly overall but we found it very odd to be told a few days into our stay we had to leave the beach and go to the pool if we had not booked beach chairs ahead of time when there was always several of them sitting empty. Would I recommend this resort, probably not. Would I stay again, absolutely not.

I had an absolutely wonderful time and so grateful to everyone who works at the hotel for making my stay so memorable ❤️ The property is right on the beach which I believe is the only one on the coast, it’s further away from the centre but still walkable or with easy bus or taxi ride: I would strongly recommend to anyone to check this place out :)

Amazing staff, amazing place

Very quiet because it was the shoulder season. This meant a few amenities weren't available (restaurant closed so no breakfast or dinner options for example). Location is removed from town but beachfront was completely empty as a result. If you want peace and quiet, this is the place.

Great hotel right on the beach, accommodating staff, amazing beach, small supermarket on the premises with surprisingly affordable prices. Overall a great experience!

Lovely place to stay, great views and right on beach. Hotel have free shuttle to restaurants around the island, would definitely stay again, dream destination.

Outdated and expensive. Funny smell in bathroom, doors not closing.

Hotel on the beach as advertised. I would say 3 stars compared with others i have stayed in. Good pool with a deeper side which is good for exercise. The only one i have seen in Porto Santo so far. Some people keep putting towels on sun chairs to reserve a place ...against instructions of the hotel. Good value for money for a couple with 2 kids. Beach/pool towels too small for big guys. Bar outside pool with nice drinks and a nice lady Diana. Anyway..positive stay

Flight diverted from Madeira due to high wind and made unscheduled overnight stop in Porto Santo. Nice little island but very little to see except beaches. Got last minute booking at the hotel. Good hotel with good facilities. But very little around except a beach. Not exactly suitable for this time of the year. I am sure it will be great for summer season.

Excellent Hotel right next to beach, Nice friendly staff always helpful, cheerful & very hard working. Close to other Restaurant & Bike, Quad & Scooter hire. Free transport to other Restaurants And local Towns.

great location directly on the beach. staff were terrific and very helpful. the hotel itself in lobby is clean and beautiful but the rooms could use some general maintenance which I'm sure they will do but our stay there was so quiet, private and we didn't care if the walls or trim needed some general upkeep privacy and beach location was the key to a terrific stay there. having a kitchen was great we cooked some meals in the room that were excellent. lots of pots and pans, bowls, cutlery etc. rented a scooter across the street and toured the island. perfect extended our stay for 2 more days we loved it so much.

The Luamar won't be beaten for location, being directly on the beach with stunning views and a great outdoor pool area. Against my better judgement we paid the supplement for sea view apartment and I have to confess it was brilliant and completely worthwhile. The breakfast was really good, staff friendly/efficient and a lovely local restaurant across the road. The biggest disappointed was the apartment itself (1 bed)- extremely small, very dated and no air conditioning in the main room (where our children were sleeping). Ideally you'll need 2 bedroom apartment for a family of 4. Overall we had a great time and it's tough to knock the hotel on the basis of the room as we spent so little time there....however, whilst the location is 5 star, the hotel is 3 star at best. Porto Santo is a delight.

This is an hotel good for people who want to relax at a beach. The hotel has stairs directly to the beach. It does not offer in site all inclusive packages, which, for me, is an advantage but it may be different for others. It is located between two bigger hotels and, some times, one gets the noise (beach music) from the contiguous hotels. But the beach of Luamar is the least crowded from the 3 hotels. The facilities are not luxury but they are pleasant enough. Most apartments (if not all) have nice balconies. A view to the beach may include a view to the pool which, sometimes, is crowded with children and, obviously, noisy. So, the solution is to go to the beach and walk along the beach.
