The staff was beyond friendly, the room was extremely clean and tidy. Breakfast was extremely good. Me and my partner would definitely recommend staying here, amd will probably stay again in the future.

Ood breakfast food in a pleasnat dining room

This is an extraordinary gem for a budget friendly stay in a central location with awesome perks! I was hesitant to book, despite the excellent online reviews because of the location and price. Could it really be this good at that costpoint? Yes, it is!! This is now my go to place when visiting Ottawa. The breakfast is full of fresh and delicious food - one of the best I've ever had.The breakfast room is spacious and bright and very comfortable. The rooms are big and charming. The bathroom is updated. Everything is spotless, bright and decorated with original art by a local artist. The staff are very friendly. It's a market location but this part feels completely safe, surrounded by condos and apartments with high end restaurants one block away. Don't be worried - you will not be disappointed!

Everything about this property was top-notch, including: the little, private balcony; the clean and well-appointed room; the little kitchenette with coffee, tea,milk, a big bottle of water, and little butters provided; microwave & all the dishes and silverware; safety bars in bathtub; two comfortable bathrobes; blackout blinds and curtains to cover large windows; good bed and pillows (slept so well!); outlets well-positioned; and the breakfast served each of the three days was out of this world, fresh with many options both hot and cold, and gluten-free bread too which was very much appreciated. The dining area was lovely, with big windows and comfortable seating. The staff are attentive and accommodating, and the common area comfortable and welcoming - the little fireplace is a nice touch. The location is perfect if you like the Byward Market venues and nearby museums and galleries. I can’t say enough about this place, it is very reasonably priced, and will be my only choice from now on.

Great location

The hotel is in the Byward Market area, a perfect location for walking to shops, restaurants, and to major bus routes and the o-train line at Rideau Centre. Breakfast is included and had a good variety of hot and cold items. The staff were wonderful, friendly and very helpful. We arrived very early in the morning our first day. The front desk staff cheerfully stored our bags and allowed us to eat breakfast even though we had not checked in yet! We would definitely stay here again!

Not soundproof at all. I got a 2nd floor room and I could hear chairs dragging below me in the dining area late into night time (11-12 am) and very early morning (I guess they were preparing breakfast). I could hear people being rowdy outside in the street all night, and someone walking the hallway outside with keys jangling at their waist all morning. It was also clearly not thoroughly cleaned before I checked in. I found beard hair clippings in the washroom sink and floors. Other long strands of hair in between the sheets and in the floor. The coffee maker still had old coffee from the previous guest, and I could smell someone else’s odour in the bed. It’s okay if you’re on a budget and here for a 1 night stay. Otherwise, I don’t recommend it. Spend an extra $20-30 somewhere else.

Strategically located at affordable price
