Somewhat remote. Not really walkable to dining or downtown. No early check is difficult if after an early morning cruise ship disembarkation. Charming to be on the old ship though.

The property increased my rate for a handicapped room which was okay. The shower was nice, but they did not put a safety mat on the shower floor so when I stood up I fell and the staff had to assist me

The ship is very nice, and some of the staff are wonderful and really go above and beyond (particularly the reception staff), but unfortunately what happened at the end of my trip rather overshadowed all the positives. I had paid around £85 to spend the night, and on top of that I had paid 14 euro to tour the ship when I arrived. To be honest it feels a bit like a tour should be included if you're a guest (especially as it is a self guided audio tour), but that's OK. However, what I didn't realise is that unless you are on the tour right this minute, you're basically not allowed to enjoy any of the ship for the rest of your trip, which kind of defeats the purpose of staying (to enjoy the trip). On my second day I was enjoying the ship as it is really beautiful. A few tour staff challenged me as I didn't have an audio guide but after I showed them that I did indeed have a ticket and a reservation they were OK. I actually hadn't seen everything on the tour as the ship is huge and it's easy to get lost on a self guided tour, plus there was a wedding that day so parts of the ship were closed. I completely get that they don't want people walking in off the street and just seeing the whole ship for free, but it seems like if you are a hotel guest AND you paid for the tour you should be free to wander and enjoy the views. After a while a tour guide very aggressively accosted me and demanded to know what I was doing. I showed him my tour ticket and explained I was a hotel gue

SS Rotterdam is nice experience. Reception staff wasn’t nice once we arrived early as we simply asked if early check in available and lady was so unhappy telling how busy they are and we must come after 3pm - I agree but tone and face expression could be different and all story would be different. Breakfast is nice , staff in restaurants are super friendly and doing every single extra mile if they can. Check out process super simple. Thank you for hosting us

We loved the SS Rotterdam but the beds were uncomfortable and the mattress would slide and hang off the bed. The WiFi in the rooms was very poor.

Iconic and atmospheric but also very tired in places. My cabin carpet was in a very poor state and the decor pleasant but outdated. Portholes were filthy on the outside, difficult to fix but they still must be cleaned. Staff were wonderful throughout, warm and friendly and willing. The Lido restaurant was enjoyable overall but, sadly, the food was only average. I'm glad I've stayed in such a special place but - sorry - I won't be back for more!

We where greeted my a Gentleman William dressed in a Ship Uniform, he gave us some good advice, like free shuttles, water taxi and water bus, very informative.

This property provides a unique experience. It is like taking a step back in time because it was a working cruise ship once upon a time. The rooms are spacious, not like current cruise cabins. The beds are soft, not firm. The amenities in the room and bathroom are similar to what you’d find at any decent hotel. The staff are friendly and welcoming from the moment you approach the property. We were greeted outside by the bell captain who helped us with our luggage and brought us aboard to the guest services area. People at the front desk are very helpful. Food in the restaurant was ok. Beef brisket should have been more tender, but meals that others had were fine. The location is close to the cruise port, which was great because we were sailing on Holland America and this hotel provides free shuttle service to the cruise terminal. This service was excellent! They took our bags right to the ship so embarkation was easy. I would definitely recommend this property. They also offer discounted tours of the ship for hotel guests. Unfortunately we didn’t have time to take advantage of this.

There was great wow factor arriving, and the novelty factor of staying on a boat was fun for the kids. As a hotel it was underwhelming. The bus connection is regular but the bus stops are in fairly ‘sketchy’ spots, I wouldn’t have felt safe as a lone woman. The shuttle is great but stops at 6pm, it would be better running later into the evening once dark rather than during the day. The rooms are kitsch with the period styling and they were immaculately clean. The corridor carpets were dirty and the smell of old smoking rooms permeated everywhere unfortunately. Reception staff were friendly but either unknowledgable or reluctant to help. We arrived at 9pm after a long journey to be told the kitchen was closed and there was no food available on board. The receptionist couldn’t recommend anywhere to go out to eat. They did say we could order a delivery but couldn’t recommend anywhere for that which was unhelpful. It was disappointing that we weren’t able to visit the upper deck, this was open to visitors doing the door but not for paying guests. We joked that we felt like we were in steerage! The breakfast was great. There was no reduced price for children which made that expensive, but it was great quality and they had a huge selection of options. All in all it was a fun choice of hotel for a couple of nights.

The room was large and nice although the refrigerator wasn’t that cold. The food for dinner and breakfast were very good. We were disappointed, however, that we couldn’t fully explore the ship quit paying for a tour. Staff didn’t seem to care about that. In addition o

Property was OK but don't think they should have put us in a room with 2 towels sopping up the water running from the air conditioning unit for entire 2 nights. Not the best for sanitation for mold. It was an upgraded room but still not the best.
