Happy to return to les Sables d’Olonne after 55 years. The place has grown a lot but the beach is still the same. The location of the hotel was excellent 👍

What I didn’t like: No where to park; there is a very expensive car park nearby, which does not take motorcycles or bicycles. We came on motorcycles and had to park in front of a shop 100 meters away on a pavement. There was minimal instant coffee and milk in the room.

We stayed here for 4 nights. It is centrally located which is nice, but the light from the casino which is directly across from the hotel if you are staying in a premium room, overlooks the entrance and the lights are very bright. The sheer curtains in the room do very little to block out any of the light. Wifi was not always working. If you are here during high season I would recommend staying some place in the middle of the Le Remblai

Nice clean hotel. Has recently been lightly renovated after it was purchased by Kyriad. Still a bit spartan and some aspects are dated. More improvement in the making. Location between superb beach and old town and harbour is great. Good buffet breakfast.

Spending one night during round trip through Britanny. Hotel is opposite a casino and close to the waterfront, but the parking facilities are problematic. Rooms are well insulated against outside noise. Breakfast is a little better than the average continental breakfast.

Our stay was fabulous. The hotel, staff, location and Les Sables D'Olonne were absolutely fantastic and would recommend to all. Les Sables D'Olonne is ais a beautul small city and a must for all to visit, including the rest of the French people.

no fridge with some free things in room as advertised.after much argument and proof that we had paid for this[superior room]they gave us fridge on following afternoon, but still no free things as advertised.we feel we were given a standard room as the hotel was fully booked and they gave priority to others who happened to be NOT BRITISH.this also happened with the parking and funnily enough[not]we were given a passcode to enter after 23.00 which was valid in july.we checked in on august 2nd.

Could not fault hotel other than it looked as if it could do with a decor refresh. Our bedroom corridor was old and drab. Not a good hotel to stay around in during the day as bar and other facilities rather basic. Perfect for us who were just using as a base and enjoying all the restaurants, and great facilities that Les Sables d'Olonne had to offer

The Arundel is a very clean and comfortable hotel situated just off the sea front, next to the Casino and Tourist Office in bustling Les Sable D'Olonne. We had a sea view, with a balcony which had table and chairs, a large room with a King-size bed, fridge, TV (with a couple of English language channels). Service was excellent - we were provided with an ice bucket, bottle opener and glasses for a bottle of wine I had bought in a shop around the corner. Breakfast was an eat as much as you like buffet with a large choice, including great coffee. A very welcoming place to stay in. Two things to note, however: 1) The aircon is essential in summer, but noisy. Opening the windows at night means you get some noise from the nearby casino (not audible when windows are closed). 2) Parking is underground, just opposite the hotel and hence very convenient, but beware of the road system here. This is the third time we have been to Sables, but it still took an hour to find our way around the one-way and pedestrianised areas.

We wanted a balcony to chill out after a walk and a bit of beach etc with bottle of wine and although this likes to make it out it's actually on the front and it isn't quite, it stuill gets lots of sun and is reasonably appointed. It is worth paying the extra - you can see the sea through a decent gap and you are about 50 yards from the beach. It was fine for our purpose, close to the port for food in the evening and the breakfast we had on last day was resonable - you can boil an egg etc.
