This is a family run 3* Hotel on the outskirts of Desenzano, perhaps 2Km from the centre. It's on the main road into Desenzano and easily reached by public transport or car of course. You could walk it if you are energetic. It is in a small very attractive suburb which has been beautifully renovated with pedestrian areas. Unless you HAVE to be in Desenzano centre itself, this area is a really nice option. It is a 200 m walk down a small steep road to a quite small pebble Lake Garda beach with a cafe which serves drinks and food. You are away from the frantic Garda crowds and the view is truly idyllic over the lake. There are plenty of little bars and restaurants within walking distance of the hotel if you don't want to walk too far. There is free public parking immediately across the road though it is quite small and busy, but there is further free public parking down the road towards Desenzano perhaps a 10 minute walk away. To be fair, during our stay there we always got parking across the road eventually after a few "laps" as someone is always coming or going.
The hotel itself offers lovely rooms with good amenities and excellent beds. Breakfast is very good and the staff are endlessly pleasant and helpful. There is a rooftop jacuzzi and sun beds if you wish, the inside of the lobby is very elegant and everything just gleams. It is spotlessly clean. There is also the most amazing range of exclusive Scottish whiskies for sale if that's your thing!
Thoroughly recommended.
