Front desk staff are not supposed to say your room number out loud during check-in for safety purposes, but they did.
The room itself smelled terrible, had scuffed and peeling wallpaper, chipped paint on the clothes rail in the closet area (which was very noticeable because they have no doors), and a big clump of black hair on the bathroom floor.
The beds were not comfortable. The pillows were tiny and we could easily feel the springs in the mattresses. The bottom sheet on one of the beds only covered the top 2/3 of the mattress; I had to pull off the bedding, turn the sheet sideways, and tuck it in the sides. It was not big enough to be tucked into the top and bottom, but it was better than having my feet on the mattress protector. The beds only had one thin blanket each, sandwiched between two flat sheets. We borrowed another blanket from the family we were visiting for one bed, and used the towels as blankets for the other bed.
The towels were nice and soft at least.
