This hotel was not a very good experience. The moment we stepped into the room, we were hit with a revolting stench coming from the drains—both in the shower and even out on the balcony. It literally smelled like raw sewage. We immediately notified the front desk and asked for a different room, only to be told they were “fully booked” and couldn’t do anything. Instead of actually addressing the issue properly, a staff member showed up with some kind of chemical cleaner and just poured it down all the drains. Clearly, they knew exactly what to do, which tells me this is a recurring issue they’ve been covering up instead of fixing. Spoiler: it did absolutely nothing. The room continued to reek of sewage for the entire stay. We felt trapped in a disgusting, unlivable space.
As if that wasn’t bad enough, the parking situation was equally absurd. The hotel garage has a clearly posted sign stating a 2-meter height limit, but the woman at reception insisted it was only 1.9 meters and told us we couldn’t park there. Our car is 1.92m—yes, technically within the posted limit—but apparently that doesn’t matter. We then asked if we could park in the unloading area in front of the hotel, since we were only staying for one night and leaving the next morning. Again, they refused and told us we had to find a parking spot somewhere on our own, and that it was “not their problem.” Seriously? For paying guests?
What makes this even more ridiculous is that when we came back from dinner at a nearby restaurant later that evening, the so-called “unloading area” was completely full of parked cars—none of which were unloading anything, obviously. Just sitting there like they belonged. So either the staff lied to us, or they let certain people break the rules. Either way, it’s unprofessional and completely unacceptable.
