Location impagabile!

Be wary of breakfast charges, paid £18.00 for bowl of cereal and a slice of toast! It is not clear at all that anything you have for breakfast is £18.00. Also charged £13.75 per night for my Collie dog but absolutely no dog provisions made, not even a water bowel,. Really poor. So back to the Polurion Hotel, better in every respect.

Glorious views, plus such a peaceful stay. With the added bonus of being next to the coast footpath.

It was my first time here, I didn’t like my room as there was very little light in there and just seemed very dark, I didn’t pay for a view but was disappointed as there was no view at all which made the room dark and depressing. I also think that the breakfast should be included in the price. The food was very good and the breakfast was lovely. The staff were very friendly.

This hotel does not have a pool, although it says it does on Hotels.com website Room pleasant and well equiped with fantastic views, bed comfortable but found pillows so hard I went and bought one! Staff were very friendly on the whole, except breakfast waiting staff, who were not very approachable. Breakfast choice was OK, although no cereals or white toast available (only muesli, fruit or yoghurt and brown granary toast)- again I went and bought my own. Fried breakfast was nice though. Not much room for parking, so to avoid a long walk up to the village for parking, (my partner is awaiting a knee replacement so I would have had to drop him off and walk back to hotel on my own - not good at night with uneven surface to lane and little lighting) did not take car out for fear of losing parking space. Although we love the area for the quiet, we don't think we'll stay at this hotel again - mainly because of the lack of a pool, the parking and the breakfast.

The Housel Bay hotel is in an amazing location with gorgeous views across the bay. Overall the staff were friendly and the beds comfortable, although there are some areas of the home that look tired. We understand that there is further refurbishment planned to address this. The food was good although the choice was limited and the main restaurant is a tasting menu only.

Always looked after very well by Alfred and the team at Housel Bay. Fabulous location right on the coastal path. Our initial room had couple of issues, but we were moved to a different room - so resolved very efficiently. Not our first visit, will not be our last.

Room was clean and tidy, although carpet was rather worn, and floors very creaky.Bed was comforatable but pillows were very hard, like cardboard! Bathroom needs refurbishment (I caught my foot on a nail protruding from the carpet fitting), but clean. Hotel was nice and quiet, a great place to get away from it all - even in June! Views from the hotel and our room were amazing, and the room was a good size with plenty of storage. Breakfast was OK, but no breakfast cereal or white toast available, and the brown toast available was again, like cardboard. However, we would stay again, as we love the position of the hotel and the views, and the easy walk into Lizard village. This is more important to us than value for money.
