Lovely, clean, comfortable and quiet stay, only niggles were the small sauna and not getting in it as too busy and the disappointment of a broken steam room out of order. x

Despite calling ahead of our visit to request early check-in as we were attending a wedding, and assured this wouldn't be a problem, the receptionist wasn't particularly friendly or accommodating on arrival. I had also phoned ahead to book a taxi which wasn't arranged either. We waited patiently in the bar area watching while other guests were booked in...The room was average. The bedroom had disabled facilities which were not requested, and there were no glasses or tea cups. Bedding was clean and room was adequately cleaned. The young lady serving at the bar was friendly and more welcoming, I'm not sure we would return based on this visit. It's a shame because the location is good and the grounds looked lovely.

We had an okay stay here, but it didn’t quite live up to other Marriott experiences we’ve had. On the plus side: free parking was convenient, check-in was quick, and the room had plenty of handy plug sockets. Breakfast was decent by UK standards, with friendly service — though bread options were poor, and the waffles were so sweet even our daughter couldn’t eat them. The room itself was just “ok.” It felt dated, a bit stuffy on arrival (the window barely opened), and the bathroom had some scale and mould in the corners. The duvets, like in many hotels, were far too thick for comfort. We tried the pool and spa but were disappointed — the pool was very cold, the jacuzzi was bubbly but also cold, several spa areas were closed, paint was peeling in the changing rooms, and one of the two escalators was out of order. On the positive side, the showers were well stocked with shampoo, conditioner, and gel. All in all, not terrible, but not worth nearly £170 per night. The place has clearly seen better days and would really benefit from a refresh and better maintenance.

Really clean, friendly, very helpful staff and very relaxing.

Staff very polite and helpful. All public areas were clean and welcoming. The toilets were clean and well maintained, they were lovely facilities. The bar area was quite small and it was hard to find a seat but apart from that it was lovely.

Worst meal I’ve had in a long time. Ordered rump steak from the grill- so tough. Was given a second one which wasn’t a lot better. My husband had half a chicken, poor presentation but very expensive for what it was. I would’ve expected much better from Marriot- such a shame. Won’t rush back.

Nice spacious room overlooking the racetrack. Convenient for area we weee visiting. Nice staff and breakfast was excellent. Let down by lack of cleaning. Our room was clean but there was stuff all over the floor which hadn’t been hoovered properly, the room was very ‘tired’ and needed some tlc for example, curtains were ripped and had holes in, furniture was dark and dreary and in areas had damage. Perhaps an upgrade would be needed? Bathroom lovely and spacious and clean. The other obvious area that should have been swept was the outside eating area. On day 2 the same rubbish was on the floor. It wouldn’t have taken staff 5 mins to see to this.

A very comfortable and well presented hotel in a great location for leisure events.

The barman on friday night was brilliant

We weren’t there for the horse racing or golf - visiting nearby Hever Castle - but having breakfast looking at the veil of mist over the racecourse from my breakfast table was a pleasant surprise. Good reasonably priced breakfast too. Room was comfortable and clean. Parking awkward when we arrived at the end of a race meeting, but plenty of space later.

Staff were helpful and accommodating. Room was spacious and clean and breakfast was good selection the chef was extremely friendly and accommodating

The hotel was the outside looks a little dated, however inside was quite modern. The seating outside that looks over the racecourse is amazing. The food & drink offering is good, however the service was slow. Room very good, hot shower clean and nice toiletries.

Property was a golf course and horse racing venue in a beautiful area just outside of Gatwick. Had a great time!
