Zel Punta Cana was an incredible resort. The rooms were truly five-star—clean, modern, and beautifully designed. The service was just as good. While not all staff speak English, they’re kind, patient, and happy to let you practice Spanish. It was fun to brush up on mine! Service-wise, everything was top-notch. We loved the beach club, the hibachi restaurant, and every bar.
Activities were fun and easy to join, with a quick ride to a gorgeous beach. We actually preferred the pool, but the beach club was a great option. Chairs were always available, and staff helped with excursions and kept vendors away. Everyone made us feel like family.
The spa was beautiful, but my deep tissue massage included massage guns, which I didn’t love. Still, the space was relaxing and worth a visit.
My biggest feedback is on the food. The buffet needs serious improvement—items weren’t always fresh or at the right temp. We stuck to the omelet bar for breakfast and mostly avoided the buffet otherwise. The restaurants were great but could use more variety and less upselling.
Communication was a little inconsistent. It’d be helpful if concierges shared a daily activity list via WhatsApp along with dinner reservations. Still, we had a wonderful time overall! I would give it an eight out of 10
