Paid parking, strange they made me write down my card number & expiry on a piece of paper for this. And also wanted to see the rear of my card. Overall hotel is outdated & so are the rooms. Breakfast is a bit of a joke. Coffee was terrible. Selection poor & quality poorer. During the night I was awoken several times by the phone on reception. It’s very clear to hear from your room. Despite complaining & them promising to turn the volume down, they didn’t. It was like a phone was ringing in my room all night. Really nice touch. Also nice to hear all the conversations of your neighbours. Walls are like paper. They put on a dirty bed cover everyday. Despite the bedding underneath to be clean, very strange. The maids are dressed in something from the 1970s, the bar man rude & it’s a bit like Spanish fawlty towers. The food given at the bar was not edible. After this and breakfast, I didn’t chance eating at the restaurant. In my room the WiFi was almost none-existent. Most of the time it wasn’t possible to even load the news. Unless you would be sleeping on the streets, I would avoid.

A beautiful hotel, the public areas were tastefully decorated. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious and overlooked the pool. The pool was not huge but very nice, with Roman steps down.

Wow! Walking into this hotel was like going into something from Hollywood in the 30s or 40s – sheer glamour! The entrance and public areas were just amazing, so beautiful, the domed ceiling made of stained glass was impressive, and the glass elevator a delight! The rooms were all of corridors on each floor that ran round the atrium, beautiful “window boxes” of greenery decorating them all, and you looked down on to a most attractive marble-patterned floor or up to the magnificent glass dome. We had a superior room, well worth the extra money. It was spacious, and, well, I think that magnificent is the word here too! Or perhaps splendid. A seating area with a sofa and an armchair, separated by a swathe of curtains from the sleeping area with a large comfortable bed, then a bay window area with another armchair, with a view across rooftops and a lot of greenery to hills planted with olive trees. Delightful! The bathroom was modern, with a spa bath. This was perhaps the only thing less than perfect, as there was no shower stall, you had to use the bath-tub, which was not good for standing without slipping. We solved this by putting a handtowel into the tub to stand on. Overall an excellent stay in a magnificent hotel.

Good location. A little dated, but it has charm. Room was comfortable but the air conditioner is controlled by hotel so it’s basically one temperature which is set at hotel discretion. I guess it’s the norm for Spain. I enjoyed my stay at this hotel.
