Large and well maintained rooms. Kept clean. Staff were helpful and very friendly. Good facilities even if the spa and pool area was a little old and in need of some modernisation

There’s a strange way of getting to some of the rooms where you have to go downstairs before eventually climbing back up. The hotel itself is very well maintained although I’d wonder if the golf course sometimes takes a little of the priority.

Enjoyed our few days at the hotel. Nice rooms with very comfortable bed. Good facilities in the room but no safe. Breakfast was good - pretty standard. Pastries were not great - pain-au-chocolat and croissants were disappointing. We had a couple of meals in the bar. The burgers were not good. Tasted like very processed meat. Pizza was good. Service in the evening in the bar was a bit hit and miss. One evening, the server was busy chatting to another guest so never got to serve us. Grounds are excellent and the golf course is a nice challenge.

A very nice hotel with good facilities with a lovely golf course, spa & pool. Room ok but felt basic. TV very old poor quality, kettle needed descaling and no glasses for drinks in room yet given bottles of water? Asked maid to make up the room in afternoon but when came back in evening it hadn't been done our bins were full up. This wa resolved after I'd gone to reception. My disabled wife tried phoning House keeping, room service and reception for items but nobody answered phone?? Very poor service Breakfast ok lots of options, just worried about people using their hands to pick up food as no tongs out? Theres no disabled toilet yet theres ramp from brasserie? You'd expect there to be one or two in a 4 star hotel ?

Spa facilities needs an update, would be great to see a walking path for non-golfer guests to enjoy the grounds, also brasserie has very low rating 2.5/5 , room service is well so expensive, margarita pizza is £18.00 + £5 room service charge. Rest is fantastic, good location, great grounds, enough to eat and drink

The breakfast was of poor quality, the plates were hot because the food was cold. The staff logging in was rude and made us wait to be seated by completely ignoring us while she used the computer. I asked if they had any rolls I was told bluntly we don’t do rolls although they did gluten free rolls. Only one drinks machine worked, the toast machine didn’t actually toast the bread. I did observe they had gluten free rolls? When at the brassiere bar I asked for a straw for a Pimms and was told there was none. One of the food options had run out at the bar - this was at 1830. The food we ordered “mouls Marineir was not very warm and the fries were cold. After all of the above we decided to eat out for dinner. I think much more effort could be expended in food quality and staff politeness

I thought the room was in need of updating, looks pretty tired. Shower wasn’t working properly, neither was the sink tap, hardly any pressure in the water! Literally a dribble coming from both! Tv very old fashioned! The grounds are very nice, but for the money don’t think it offers good value

We stayed here for our anniversary, its a very impressive building, staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was very nice, large bed, great big soft pillows, air con nice and cold. Only issue was the water pressure of the shower, if you wanted anything other than a cold shower the water pressure dropped so you were basically hugging the wall to get under the water. We did let the staff know this upon checkout. We had drinks out on the terrace overlooking the golf course which was lovely in the sun, had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant which were both spot on. The gym is well equipped. We would definitely return and stay again.

Outside areas were beautiful, a lovely long sweeping drive up to an impressive building with plenty of parking. , The reception and bar areas were nicely decorated, tidy and modern and were inviting. The pool area was ok, some jets not working but nice and warm and fairly large. 1 Sadly, some of the restaurant area was run down , a bit perfunctory & bland along with the food. We had an overpriced tasteless dinner & breakfast was awful, with long queues for a cooked breakfast which was not worth the wait. The bacon was anaemic and dry at the same time, the tea was tepid and the strawberries/ berry mix alongside the yogurt was still frozen ( clearly Tesco value) The bedrooms were large, with working aircon ( which was a treat in 30degree heat) very comfortable king beds and clean bathrooms , the decor is outdated but lots of space for your luggage and clothes. Staff not so helpful, 3 requests over 3 days for a late check out - no reply from reception/booking team. Denied all knowledge on arrival and then recieved a reply 2 days after checking out. Overall- perfect for a quick overnight especially on hot days for the aircon as long as you aren’t eating there.
