Booked an overnight stop in May. Lovely old inn in a nice village. Room was clean, comfortable bed, coffee making facilities etc. very good shower. Very peaceful stay. Food and beer in pub was very good. Friendly helpful staff. Would not hesitate to stay again if in the area.

Wonderful stay here, the rooms are immaculate, tastefully and elegantly decorated with thoughtful touches such as discrete low level sensor operated lighting in the en-suite, meaning no one has to turn a bright light on to use the loo in the night! Every possible need was covered in the well equipped rooms, including gorgeous luxury soap and shower products provided. Excellent hospitality and food from the warm welcome from the manager on arrival to the incredible flavours created by chef Ramesh. Coeliac customers well catered for with a number of excellent gluten free options. The pub and restaurant share a number of lovely dining areas which combine old world character with elegant decor and upholstery, making for a very relaxing and comfortable, warm ambience. It’s just as a coaching inn should be! Breakfast was first rate too, and plenty of on site parking and a pretty village and area to explore with good walking from the door too - we can’t commend this hotel highly enough.

Really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is situated in a beautiful village. It was wonderful to stay in an old property which appeared to have been recently renovated. The bed was very comfy and the room was exceptionally clean. Breakfast was fantastic. Bacon and eggs etc were freshly cooked. Delicious choices.

A remarkably well run hotel. Everything is really well done.

Loads of character, friendly staff, and tasty food. The beds are a bit small and the floors creaky, but this is in line with the property (theme). Room was clean, with a small but modern bathroom and otherwise very cozy. Certainly good value for money.

Had a mini break here and we were very impressed with the hotel. All the staff were very friendly and efficient the food was good and the room was very well presented. If we were to come to this area again we would stay here again.

The room was clean and beautifully furnished and the bathroom was spotless too, with luxury toiletries. The motion censor night light in the bathroom was also a really thoughtful idea. I didn’t t have breakfast or an evening meal, so unable to comment on these. The only thing I would say was that I was surprised that access to my room was directly from the street. As a solo traveller, I was a little alarmed by this in terms of security, but Dorchester is a quiet village and there was not much noise from the road.

Love this hotel and choose to stay whenever I'm down this way for work.

Great old building, nice bar and restaurant

We loved this little pub that was older than our country! The room was wonderful and spacious. We had dinner there which was yummy, especially the creme brûlée - it was better than the one I had in Harrods! The staff were friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay there again. It is opposite the church where Midsomer Murders is filmed.

Amazing room, great decor with nice pictures and books. Very comfortable bed, great bathroom. Very good food at the restaurant, generous breakfast included. Went back for Sunday roast and it was very good. Staff very nice and helpful. Would recommend to all my friends

This is a lovely hotel. The staff are so friendly and the rooms beautiful, clean and welcoming. Little touches like classical music on the radio as you walk in - just lovely.
