Our stay was extremely disappointing. The food was below average and overpriced. Although the staff were polite, they refused to provide or even sell cereal for our children outside breakfast hours, despite it being on display in plain view.
Our room had a strong mildew odor, what appeared to be black mold stains on the walls, and rough, low-quality sheets. The hotel also felt almost deserted during our stay, with very few other guests that we saw.
The hotel advertised a heated pool, but it was far too cold to use. When we returned with takeout one evening, we were not allowed to eat at the outdoor dining area (despite there being no other guests), and were instead directed to a small, stuffy meeting room.
We also felt uncomfortable in the surrounding neighborhood. During both days of our stay, there was an intoxicated person sleeping on the sidewalk directly outside the hotel.
To top it off, we were charged $50 for a small blood stain on a bedsheet caused by our child’s mosquito bite. Staff entered our room immediately after checkout and then came running after us when we were already in our car to collect the charge. When we spoke with the owner, the only response was that we had signed a contract outlining the policy. We understood the policy but were disappointed that no discretion or goodwill was shown over such a minor, accidental stain.
Overall, we left feeling that this hotel was more focused on rigid policies and additional charges than on guest satisfaction. We
