The hotel is in the centre of Zutphen, 10 minutes walk from the train station, as far as I am aware, there is no other hotel in Zutphen which is so convenient. The building is old but the rooms have modern facilities.

Easy walking distance to the train station and lots of shops, restaurants, markets nearby.

The hotel staff are very welcoming. I booked a single room which often is a double but single occupancy. This was a small single room on the ground floor. It was clean and tidy and suited what I booked but a little more space would have been more pleasant. Having said that I would definitly book a single at this hotel again.

I had to stay in Zutphen for a business stopover, and this hotel was perfectly located - only a 10 minute pleasant walk from the railway station. The hotel itself is a beautiful property which is currently being renovated. Major parts of the hotel have already been completed, but some of the rooms not yet (including mine). However, the room was adequate and clean, and there were also lots of power outlets. The bed was very comfortable, everything was in working order. My room was very quiet, and the windows were very well isolated (both for noise and temperature). The location of the hotel in Zutphen (which itself is a very pretty town to visit) is excellent, with everything within walking distance. There are several cafés, bars, restaurants and shops in the immediate neighbourhood (but be aware that restaurants close very early in Zutphen!). Give the price of the room, I found the price-quality ratio excellent. Two complaints: - [Minor] the (optional) breakfast was rather frugal. For €16.50 one could expect a bit more variety. - [Major] the (free) Internet was very slow. As I work in the sector of the Internet business, I investigated this and discovered that the cause was a filter against adult content! Every page was obviously screened against certain parameters, and some rejected, resulting in terrible performance (Skype being impossible). I felt like I was in Iran, Saudi-Arabia or China! This is unacceptable for a European hotel!

The hotel is well managed and the staff are friendly and pro-active. There are good restaurant facilities, but be aware of the Dutch tradition of eating very early in the evening. (If you have travelled for hours to get there, don't expect to have dinner in Zutphen much after 21-00!). The rooms are quiet and of reasonable size. Minus points are foam filled pillows and in our room a quite ineffective shower. The decor throughout the hotel is somber and rather 'tired'.
