The check in was wonderful because of an exceptional young man who shared his skill of playing the cello. I asked if he loved music being on the home town of The Beatles, and his conversation prepared me before a memorable two days in Liverpool. Great experience.

No frills but clean and comfortable for a one night stay. Close to Bold Street and nightlife - so take your ear plugs! As a single female traveller, always concerned about safety. Area with Bedrooms could only be accessed using the room key card. Lock on bedroom door. En-suite bathroom- hair/body gel provided.

On the plus side, the reception staff are very helpful, and the room was basic and clean -all I needed for a single night. Due to previous reviews, I was prepared for the noise of the nearby club, and it ended up not bothering me so much. The problem was that the noise didn't end there. There were the loud party goers returning home at 4am, followed by the sweeping lorry, followed by the beer delivery lorry for the club at about 5:30 am which involved more than a half hour of metal beer casks being scraped along the pavement. None of this is the hotel's fault, and people who are heavy sleepers should absolutely not be put off, as the hotel IS decent. I myself will likely find a quiter spot next time.

Staff are unreal. I lost some cash and Mike found it and posted it back to me. He went above and beyond. The receptionist was very helpful and the lady at breakfast too. Great value for money and great location too. Thanks I’ve started a couple of times and will stay again.

I had a lovely stay here when I came up to see the foo fighters. The staff were all really friendly and helpful, the room was clean and had everything I needed. I was a solo traveller and always felt safe and comfortable, I would definitely stay again.

For the price in Liverpool good value for money. Not far from train stations, shops and docks, all walking distance. Anfield a bus journey away. We arrived on the hottest day in June, within minutes of getting in the room a fan was delivered to our room, didn’t even need to ask. Everything in the room clean and tidy, coffee tea and kettle provided. Staff were excellent, very friendly, polite and helpful. Breakfast in the morning served very quickly and was good. We would definitely stay again.

First things first, let's address the "noise problems". This hotel is part of a pub & is surrounded by pubs & clubs. A simple look at the pictures will tell you that. It is likely to get noisy at nights. However, I stayed on a Thursday night & had the window wide open onto the street all night & it was fairly quiet from around 12am/1am. So, I'm gonna guess Mon-Thurs is alright noise wise. Staff: I was greeted by a lovely lady on reception who was very friendly & chatty. There was also a nice gentleman on later who let me in when I rang the bell (front door is locked once pub is shut). Room: Was very clean & had all the basics. Was just what I needed. Also was supplied with a small but very powerful fan. Very much needed during this heatwave! Location: 5-10min walk from Lume Street Station. 5min walk from Liverpool Central. Right next to Liverpool One. And 15-20min walk to the Docks. As previously stated, plenty of nightlife in the area. I would definitely return. Good value for money.

Really quick check in. Staff really friendly. Breakfast was great, a hotel that actually understands that sausages should have some colour on them, tomatoes should be cooked and not raw and everything piping hot when delivered. As they declare on their website, don't book if you want a quiet hotel, but if you don't mind the sound of nightlife and you want to be right in the heart of the city at a reasonable price, then the Hanover ticks these boxes.

Staff friendly enough. Room had poor lighting. Sqeaky floors. Two loose toilet seats, room was generally tired looking.
