Really good resort, with the major positive being the property itself — you’ve got the backwaters and the beach on hotel property, and getting around is as easy as walking or calling for a buggy to transport you. Staff is also really warm and take great care of you. My two major complaints are: 1) food — there needs to be some more variety, and they need to add salt!!!! 2) some of the villas had older/dated plumbing hardware, so the faucets leaked or the shower wouldn’t really get a lot of water out of it. That said, the property is just so beautiful, and the staff so understanding and accommodating when you bring up issues, that I would still highly recommend this place for a getaway.

Wonderfully built with lots of spaces to relax and chill.Pool,backwaters and beach are accessible and lots of activities are offered.They have a great spa and fitness centre but hardly anyone was using it.Evening tea by the poolside was very well laid out and plentiful.Food was good with plenty of choices.Very plush villa we stayed in which had a plunge pool and swing and indoor and outdoor showers.Our only issue was that they really discourage swimming in the sea which we were looking forward to and thought we could have.

This is a good, not great Taj Resort. We liked the Room and the Spa and the grounds were lovely. The peace and tranquility was interrupted several times each day by the nearby Muslim calls to Prayer from close-by Mosques. And the Beach was covered with trash. They did send a team to collect the trash after we reported this - but probably only removed 60%. Little things like not replacing Bath Robes after first use were just unnecessarily disappointing. And the key card suggesting we WhatsApp reception was a waste of time, as they never replied. Finally, Restaurants don't serve dinner before 7.30pm - which is too late for us - so we have room service instead.

Taj Bakal was our first stop in a two week travel through the region. It was a great way to start our adventure. The resort is beautiful, accommodating, and provide provides ample choices. Service and accommodations were superb.

We went for a year-end retreat to the Taj Bekal and were completely at home around the resort. With its quiet surroundings and multiple amenities, it was a perfect getaway for 4 days, allowing us time to bond with the nature and enjoy as a family. Would highly recommend this place.

Stunningly Beautiful Place

Hospitality was good. Weather was horrible. Couldn’t have chosen a bad time to visit Bekal. Food was amazing though. Activities within the Resort were limited but had a pleasant stay.

Out of the four Taj hotels that we stayed in, Bekal offers the best value for money with amazing villas. I was concerned that the backwaters may have meant lots of insects but this wasn’t the case. The gardens with an amazing variety of birds, the sea food restaurant by the beach, the pool, everything is beautiful

An absolutely stunning resort positioned on a beach and also along the backwaters. The pool was amazing, the restaurants were good and the villa with private pool was absolutely fantastic. The room also had an outdoor bath and shower which was very luxurious and relaxing. The rooms were very private and perfect for a relaxing break. I would most definitely return back here when visiting Kerala again.

Excellent property and lived upto the Taj expectations. Their hospitality was top notch, service standards were very prompt and courteous with so many humble and down to earth employees. Backwaters was a big attraction with complimentary tea & snaks session from 4 30-5 30 pm - JIVA Spa was also very good though a little steep in price - I am particularly thankful to the Taj Bekal employee Aswanth and manager Suniel for calling me on time and making sure my work laptop reaches the Mangalore airport by 4.30 pm as I had forgotten my laptop in my room and the driver Sridharan made it on time before my 5.05 pm departure flight to Mumbai so big thank you for that. Overall an excellent vacation and enjoyed every bit of it.

Beautiful property with huge rooms, spacious bathrooms, eye-catching landscaping, beach front, delicious food. Worth the money spent. Kid friendly.

As a whole was awesome

It was a great location. Property felt a little dated. Rolls were clean and nice. Indian food was good but continental Breakfast was very poor. Overall a good experience but didn’t get the feeling of a five star resort.
