Very poorly maintained hotel. General smell of mildew. Cleanliness in public areas was awful. No attention to detail such as refinishing the bathroom wall where a plumbing connection had been changed. I had a completely broken closet door in my room and a constantly leaking hair conditioner dispenser in the shower, creating a slimy puddle. The water for the Jacuzzi was a little more than warm but not hot. Breakfast isn't served until 9:00 and the in-room coffee is instant. Would not reccomend.

The area is beautiful, but the room very old and in very bad condition. It is a shame that some property owners rent a 300 Usd night bedroom is a status of a 1 star minus hotel. Will come back To the area but not to this poor place. The sink was loose and also the toilette, throwing water to the floor… room was not well cleaned. I will it Reccomendation travelers to go to this place. The area is very quiet and there are a lot of other nice places to stay, after stating one night I moved to another place, paid less and was excellent. All the best

The staff went out of their way to meet any request. Exceptional service. Breakfast was an excellent way to start the day - fresh, abundant and they serve it in the pool, your room, anywhere you like. Decoration was beautiful, artsy, good taste. Umbrellas and beach towels were very convenient. Great bikes!

Had a lovely time staying at la viuda de Jose Ignacio- the hotel was over some sand dunes from a huge unspoiled beach. We borrowed mountain bikes to cycle to the nearby lagoon and also into Jose Ignacio where we went to the secluded beach . We stayed in November before the main tourist season so you have to be aware only certain places in the town open - in the main season there would be many lovely restaurants to go to and vineyards to visit. We hired a car for the 2 days of our visit which was very helpful as the hotel is 4 km outside the town . You can also get the bus from Montevideo or Punte del Este. Staff at the hotel were lovely and very attentive - breakfast was very nice. The hotel was quirky with lovely artwork from the gallery in town displayed - would recommend

We had a wonderful stay at la Viuda! We lived our room with the sea view and tub. The free breakfast was delicious and we loved that it was offered as room service any time. So close to an isolated beach, easy drive to Jose Ignacio. Several amazing restaurants close by for dinner. Would go back and recommend to friends and family!

Never again, expensive and dirty I would not recommend this hotel At all

La Viuda is one of the best value Posadas in Jose Ignacio. The rooms are spacious, the prices are reasonable considering the alternatives, and the management consistently goes out of it's way to assist and make you feel at home.

We were there for our honeymoon. It was around New Years so everything was crazy expensive, which is typical for all of Punta del Este and the surrounding beaches. The service was amazing - all the staff was fantastic and attentive and easy to communicate with. Breakfast was lovely every day by the pool. The only negative I can think of was that the room was a little sandy when we first arrived, but as it's very much a beach themed hotel, that was no big deal. It's not located in the main area of Jose Igancio but about 3km away, which is fine because they have free bikes for you and one of the best beaches was right across the street anyway (Las Arenas del Jose Ignacio). We'd definitely go back!

This hotel was my favorite place to stay during my time in Argentina and Uruguay. The hotel staff was incredibly accommodating, giving us a personal cell phone to reach their staff at any point during our stay and also booking dinner reservations near by. The hotel provide bikes you can use to ride around the area and has a nice pool you can sit by. Each room is VERY comfortable with apple tv, and free movies to choose from. There are hot tubs in the rooms, high speed internet and amazing complimentary breakfast. All of their food options are fresh and made just right. one thing you should know though is that this hotel is NOT in puna del este. When i searched for rooms on expedia for Punta del este this hotel came up and i booked it not knowing it was about 45 minute drive north of there. I rented a car for only 40 dollars and was very glad that i did so. the drive to the hotel is amazing and there are stores and great sights to see along the way. The area of the hotel is way more peaceful and beautiful than the tourist areas of punta del este. When you do stay at this hotel make sure you go the the restaurant called LA HUELLA. its right on the beach and has an amazing atmosphere and food.

Great hotel with great service. Breakfast is outstanding. Rooms are comfortable with large jacuzzi tubs, Apple TV, wi-fi, and you can see and hear the ocean from the large balcony! Staff offered to make dinner reservations for us and were attentive to all needs. Jose Ignacio is a fantastic area. The hotel is not in the town of Jose Ignacio - about 5 minutes away by car. You could walk 5-10 minutes to get to the beach.

Atendimento impecável de toda equipe, em especial do Javier, a pousada é excelente, oferece tudo o que aparece nas descrições e surpreende. O custo x benefício vale muito a pena!

A equipe muito simpática. A pousada precisa de um pouco de manutenção. Pintura. Jardinagem. Limpeza deixou um pouco à desejar. A pousada fica um pouco afastada, tudo tem que fazer de carro. O cafe da manha é ok. Nada muito elaborado. A cama tem um buraco no meio. As toalhas sao boas

Foi muuuito ruim, começando pelo colchão que tinha um sobre o outro e bem irregular, acordei com dor muita dor no corpo. A pia do banheiro era no quarto e extremamente baixa, quase na altura dos joelhos. O box, que não tinha box e sim uma cortina bem velha, não tinha nenhuma iluminação 🙄. E p/ completar no 2º dia choveu muito na cidade e teve goteira no meu quarto, bem em cima da mala do meu marido, que por sorte eu a fechei antes de sair, senão teria molhado toda a roupa. E p/ completar o hotel não tem elevador e vc mesma tem que subir as malas nos 3 ou 4 lances de escada, mas o pior disso é não ter a acessibilidade, tanto p/ cadeirantes como p/ idosos ou até mesmo alguém que esteja machucado ou com dificuldade de subir as escadas. E essa não é só a minha opinião e sim do grupo todo, estávamos em 10 pessoas. Péssima estadia neste hotel. A única exceção foi o atendimento, todos eram muito simpáticos e solícitos, mas mesmo com todos os esforços deles a experiência foi ruim.
