The toilet bidet and the room light was not working. The staff offered a room change but we had already unpacked so we declined. But we did not expect the aircon was also not working and we opened one of the windows for fresh air but the noise from the rain heating the roofs made it worse! Did they give us the worst room? Overall, we did not sleep well at all.

Services were perfect. I got everything that I expected from Japanese Ryokan during the stay. Employees were passionate, and dedicated to their job. Highly recommended for your Onsen trip.

The lake view is very nice. The meals are fancy but average taste. If there were an outdoor onsen, it would be perfect!

Hotel way overcharged is for dinner. For 8800 yen, we were given food that’s worth about one third the price in a cold, function room that’s most uncondicive. Onsen was probably one of the worst we’ve been. No amenities provided except for basic shampoo, conditioner n body shampoo . Staff is ok . But we felt really cheated about dinner. Absolutely zero value for money. Only thing I can compliment is the bed and comforter. The rest of the room is lousy.

The special room we were given was lovely. But the food was unsatisfactory and not worth the high price we paid. The dining room was like a store room.

This hotel was clean, quiet and met our needs as a family of 4. The hotel does have a charge for kids, as well as, a small daily resort fee, so be aware of that upon checkin. The staff was friendly and provided us tea and orange juice for the kids upon arroval, then accompanied us to our tatami room to answer any questions we had with an English speaking staff member. The tatami room is worth the extra cash, as it has a great view of the lake and has about 8-10 futon mattresses to lay out ( I was concerned about not sleeping well on the firm floor, but double stacked mine had a great night sleep!) To the reviewers talking about this hotel being “old”; yes it’s not the newest hotel (you won’t find that in this town anyways) but it was clean and meets the standards of a typical Japanese hotel and do agree to stay clear of the western style rooms. Stack up on food/drinks from Lawson or Family Mart ( Not a lot of food options around), get the tatami room, go the onsen/sauna and enjoy the view. You won’t be disappointed.

Very remote but large hotel with great views of the lake. Perfect for quiet retreat. Short uphill walk to Main Street to visit the Jigoku, which was amazing. Best to have dinner in hotel as choices on Main Street limited.

This is very nice and comfortable hotel. We happened to stay in Japanese style room. It is spacious and the lake view was wonderful from room.

Very good accommodation. Staff helped as best as possible with English speaking customer. Very comfortable and helpful for any needs during stay. Provided delivery and pick up by hotel transportation to village area for shoppoing and restaurants.

Super service, super facilities for a ryokan. The only downside is that I was there alone and it was a bit lonely. No communal activities. Bit great for a couple or family

施設が綺麗で趣があり、料理がとても美味しかったです。アメニティの不足もなく、ホテルスタッフも丁寧で居心地がものすごく良かったです。また利用したいと思います。 ただ、夜に車でどこかに出かける時にはホテル周辺は真っ暗なので気をつけてください。
