The Wi-Fi was not working for four days, and the issue was still not resolved by the time we left. We have stayed at Axel hotels several times in the past and have generally had good experiences. However, this was by far the worst experience we’ve had regarding Wi-Fi service. As frequent travelers, we rely on internet access during every trip, so the lack of a working connection throughout most of our stay was extremely frustrating and disappointing.

I like the Axel for the vibe. While the rooms could use a little refresh, the place is clean, the gym is well appointed and the pool area is great to hang out around. The staff are friendly in every department I encountered- housekeeping, pool, reception. As always I like its commitment to its queer clientele.

Amazing 10 day stay at Axel Beach, as it always is. Aythomi super accommodating to us on arrival, room super clean, cleaning staff are amazing! Shout out to the two guys serving at the pool bar, really great facilities and you really can whatever holiday you want here, had chance to be sociable, but also have some alone time. We have come back many times over the years to Axel Beach, and will continue to do so! Well done on having the great foundations, but even more so for having such brilliant staff.

Very dated and old property. Pictures are deceiving. Not worth the money you're paying , can get better accommodations with more amenities, including breakfast.

Would thoroughly recommend. Rooms a little tired but very clean, with everything you need and good service. Plenty of choice for breakfast - quality of food fine. Had a room with a city view, which was lovely and quiet.

My general impression is that the room felt too cheap for how expensive it was. I had multiple issues which, to their credit, the staff responded to with concern. It’s the little things as they say: there was no hand soap in my room, and when I asked for it, they just said they had run out. It wasn’t until I got a bit upset that they sent me some body gel to compensate. There were also issues with the toilet (constantly running water), which led to it needing to be replaced; this took a couple of days. And the AC is locked at 18 Celsius, which means it isn’t really cooling down enough. When we mentioned this they sounded surprised, which is not believable considering that it happens in several rooms. This hotel is good for the adult things and the proximity to Yumbo, but one can do better for the price, without a doubt.

We had room only The rate was excellent - the room was as described Went for cheaper road side option which was lovely as it got the sun after the pool lost it The beds are large and comfortable And there is a seperate living area and kitchenette There’s ample sun loungers and reasonable prices cabanas My only criticism would be that it would be nice to have the fridge cleared of chargeable items so you could use it with a supermarket shop I would happily stay again Thank you axel beach

The hotel was good value for the money, but the rooms are dreary and dark, and very noisy. I could constantly hear the people above me.

Good adult-only hotel, mainly male couples, some female couples and a few mixed. Great location, just 5 minutes from the Yumbo. Very expensive in-room minibar, you even have to pay for the first coffee! There is a Dolce Gusto machine in the room, but you pay a significant amount for a single pod, so bring your own tea/coffee, nearest Spar is in the Yumbo. Bathroom lighting not the best, you shower in darkness. Great shower though, plenty of hot water with good power. Bed is very firm but it is a proper double, good pillows. Poolside bar is good, but food seemed to stop after three, but plenty of restaurants around off-site. Breakfast not taken, finishes at 1100.

We were very happy with our stay at Axel Beach - friendly staff (and friendly guests), good buffet breakfast to start the day off, ideal location for Yumbo and also a good location generally. Our room (balcony/garden view) was spacious, had everything we needed and it was good to have a bedroom separate to the lounge and kitchenette. Hopefully we'll be back to Gran Canaria and we would definitely stay at Axel Beach again!

Great place, Great staff and great cleaners

Hotel is obsessed with charging for everything and in many cases things that ought to be complimentary. Dish washing liquid and cloth €4.5; one coffee pod €1.90; bottle of water €4, etc. The fridge was full of more drink than the usual mini fridge.

First time in GC and first time in a gay hotel and I think Axel was a great choice. Staff have been very friendly and helpful, good amount of amenities and clean areas. What was really impressive was how spacious the rooms are, you have a separate living room area and large bathrooms. I think the most important piece of advice I can give to someone is that the sun is facing the opposite way in late afternoon so you can’t sunbathe at the pool after a certain time. There are lounges in other areas but it’s not the same sadly.

Excelent Hotel, very close to where I wanted to be, staff very courteous and helpful, stayed an extra night.

The staff is amazing here ! Big shout out to the cleaning team - it was so nice. Everything was top dollar. Late check out was 40 euros in cash only - that seemed a big too much but we were able to just stay buy the pool.

Pool area is great, rooms are clean and comfortable. Hotel is nicely located.

No, the room was great and the maid staff was excellent. I am mad because the 1 day I ate breakfast in the restaurant, I paid cash eur for my meal, they charged my room also. Additionally, they charged me for 2 bottled waters that I bought outside the room. I left the 2 empty bottles in the room.
