If you’re looking for a truly secluded escape, Jungle Beach delivers. Far from the more developed parts of or Uppavelli, it’s wonderfully private — just you, the jungle, and one of the most pristine beaches I’ve ever set foot on. The sand is very soft, the sunsets paint the sky in gorgeous paddle pop colours, and the early morning walks are magical and peaceful. Breakfasts were a highlight with the most wonderful fresh juice (try the wood apple & passion fruit!) and a full menu to order from. Evenings on the beach with fresh seafood were equally special, and the staff were genuinely warm throughout. They also helped us arrange a bike rental to explore the beach area in Uppuveli, which was a great way to see a bit more of the region. Wildlife encounters were unforgettable: langur monkeys swinging through the trees off our balcony of the garden room, Sri Lankan squirrels with the cutest pink noses coming right up to us, and even a crocodile spotted on the grounds. A few heads ups: it’s a very family-friendly hotel with lots of kids, so the pool fills up fast, however the beach loungers are the place to be. Midst wear flip flops died to the beach as the sand gets seriously hot in summer. Feedback: The beach bar plays the same playlist on repeat which would have been nice if it played more varied music. A perfect blend of beach and jungle — highly recommend!

Very nice little boutique hotel. Our room was 30 seconds from the beach which was long and deserted. The room was spacious and comfortable, the hotel clean and well set out with good amenities and super friendly staff. Nothing was too much trouble and they reacted to requests immediately. Highly recommended for people looking to relax and just chill out.

Staff were incredibly professional and responsive. The room was only a 2 minute walk to the beach and was very clean. For meals, we frequently had Manoj as our server, who was very attentive and knowledgeable. The pool has a very unique jungle theme, and is quite large. Benches around the pool are often taken during busy season. Highly recommend this resort!

Great hotel

Fantastic retreat/stay, room and amenities were great. Rotating menu for dinner was a nice touch for guests staying more than 1-2 nights. add on trips were fun, but could have stayed in the room the whole time as well.

The place was beautiful but what made it more amazing were the people there. Everyone was very kind, respectful and accommodating.

The main lodge and cabins were stylish, designed and well maintained. The jungle setting on a beach was enchanting. The beach was lovely but the swimming was rough given we were there in the off season. The Sri Lankan food was delicious and the staff were friendly and accomodating.

It was one of the best hotels in Sri Lanka. I would love to go back again.

The room and service was fantastic. The breakfast spread was delicious and we really enjoyed the seafood BBQ.

Beautiful resort, great service, not too many tourists!

Amazing resort, wonderfully peaceful and relaxed, beach front cabins where definitely the pick of accommodation. Staff were wonderful, helpful and friendly, resort was very clean. We absolutely loved our stay but this is not a cheap option, although worth every penny There is a bit of maintenance required on the roofs of some of the buildings that you would have thought would be kept on top of and the pool was not clear so we chose to swim in the sea in stead.

The hotel is in an amazing tranquil area, the beach is stunning and kept very clean. We had 3 lovely nights here however the dietary requirements weren’t catered to despite filling in a form upon arrival to specify our needs. Definitely make sure to explore the local area. If food is not included in your deal, probably best to venture out of the hotel to get better value for money and a bit more of an original Sri Lankan experience. The breakfast that is included is fenomenal and plentiful. Customer service was a bit of a letdown, possibly due to the language barrier but a shame for the price you’re paying per night. A few of the staff were very friendly but overall we were disappointed.

Beautiful beach villa with the most comfortable bed and pillows. Housekeeping was fantastic and attention to detail amazing. Thimasha on the front reception was incredible. She arranged so many beautiful things for me as a celebrated my birthday there. The chef was skilled at bending to my needs of being vegan. Restaurant staff great too. Everyone from gardeners to therapists in spa were welcoming. An amazing experience staying there at the end of 1 month travelling. I would definitely return and not hesitate to recommend to friends and family. Thank you Uga for amazing memories

The staff and management was excellent. Alll were very courteous and friendly, and always willing to do whatever it took to make our stay at jungle beach the best possible. It’s really hard to mention all of the staff who were so great, but I would like to mention how much we appreciated Janitha. My only suggestion would be to add European/ American cuisine to their menu. Thank you for the wonderful 18 day stay we had at Jungke Beach.

Felt so privacy and very calm, natural beauty as it is

Fantastic place to relax for a few days. Beach villas were superb as was service and attitude all round. Slightly surprised at how European the menu was and that as an eco lodge they used plastic bottles for water in the restaurant whereas they didn’t in the room. Also surprised the water wasn’t free as it often is elsewhere on the island.

The beach villas are delightful as is the whole place. Slightly surprised that the menu had so many European options. A wonderful place to chill for a few days.

Jungle Beach was completely wonderful. The service of the staff was impeccable, the rooms very spacious and comfortable. The food was delicious and, in my opinion, good value for the portion size and quality. I would definitely recommend staying here.

An amzing getaway from the busy life, i loved everything about it, the room, the comfort, the food, the staff, the environment was sooooo good. Makes you forget everything and helps relax your mind.. place where you can experience the jungle, the beach and wildlife all at once... unforgettable

Paradise ..Paradise!!! Stayed for 2 nights with friends. Place is beautiful. I love love love love this place!... What an amazing atmosphere where nature is at its most! A real paradise by the beach. Very unique serene place! I highly recommend this paradise for those who want to relax while enjoying nature at its best.
