Having been to Nendaz on several previous occasions, I was excited to finally check out the spa hotel. I had booked an Evening Spa and Dinner deal and communicated with the spa team via email to book our dinner reservation with use of the spa facilities for a few hours beforehand.
Being from the UK, I wanted to make sure our reservation was 100% confirmed before we flew out. I received a response confirming everything and was even asked if we had an allergies that they should be aware of. So far so good.
However on arrival, the reception desk told me that there was no booking under my name and I should check with the spa desk. The spa desk then proceeded to also tell me that they had no record of my booking. Until I showed them the email chain.
We were then asked if we were happy to sit in the bar restaurant instead of the main one that the booking was made for (also then tried to bring our booking forward an hour so we had less time in the spa. I refused and asked to keep it to the time I had booked). We had no choice but to accept the different restaurant. No apologies were made, no complimentary drinks offered - in fact, we were additionally charged 9CHF for water, no efforts to show that a mistake had been made on their part. In truth, we were treated as if we were an inconvenience to the whole team. If we hadn't need to travel home the following day I would have pushed for some sort of refund but alas, the mountain air eased my frustration.
That said, the spa facilities were brilliant and the food, although reluctantly served to us in the wrong restaurant, was prepared well.
