River House is very well located overlooking the river in a busy area adjacent to the Macdonalds. We did not have a river view and the room was quite small. The elevator was also quite small, barely fitting the two of us and our suitcases. The elevator does not go to the ground floor so stairs are required to get to breakfast. The air conditioning in the room would not cool the room to our desired temperature at night. Overall it seemed a little over priced for the quality of the room.

The hotel was in a great location by the river. The staff was helpful with restaurant recommendations and the breakfast was good. Would recommend this hotel to others I would let others staying here know that it is next to McDonalds on the water side as we had a little trouble finding the hotel at first

We could not have been happier with this clean, beautiful, and historic hotel.

We spent 4 nights in Porto at 1827 River House and during our stay we met most of the team who make this boutique B&B so special. We were very well looked after and nothing was too much trouble, from arranging the transfer from the airport, lending us a USB adaptor and providing helpful hints on where to eat and what to see. We had a river view room on the 4th floor and the room was quiet, comfortable and well-equipped. Location-wise it couldn't be better as you are literally a stone's throw from the river and within walking distance of all Porto has to offer. Would definitely recommend if you are coming to Porto.

Staff were very attentive and interactive. Breakfast was delicious: eggs, bacon, cheese, meat, local fresh breads, yogurt, fruit, granola, coffees and juice and tea. Comfy bed and great pillows!

We absolutely loved our stay. It was so worth the cost and the view was amazing. We would love to come back!!

Loved room with a view of river!

A fantastic location to enjoy th3 nightlife in Porto.

Booked 2 nights following another wonderful Viking trip ( on the Douro River ). Had done lots of research as we wanted to be in the Ribeira section on the river. Location was PERFECT! could walk to dozens of cafes/ restaurants/ wine bars etc and enjoy outdoors on perfect weather. Upon arrival a bit turned off by exterior which was in need of some cleaning up/weeding and, alas, next to a McDonald's ( in a lovely old building but surrounded by trash we had to pass each time we went in and out.. ugh). Staff small and va/ried levels of genuine hospitality...our room was wonderful with windows on the river. After a bit of juggling we're able to keep that room for both nights vs move ( our fault, 2 separate booking for 1 nite each but they were able to rearrange- appreciated!) Did included breakfast one morning..lovely, very generous spread of typical European fare with coffee & expresso machine availabilie early. Only 8 rooms, small but cozy breakfast room also facing river with seating for maybe 8 people.Porto is a very fun/ safe feeling place with plenty to do...plan at least 2 nights!

We loved this hotel. Breakfast was wonderful and the staff were so helpful. We had a beautiful river view and we were close to great restaurants and sites.

A lovely little hotel away from the hustle and bustle, yet close to everything! Book a room w a river view! So peaceful! Wonderful & helpful staff and the breakfast was lovely!

Great location with super easy bolt or uber pickup, easy to walk to the restaurants which are all around

Great location, nice rooms and lovely staff made our trip to Porto a fabulous experience. The breakfast is great (as is the food in Porto in general) and being right on the river front in Ribeiro suited our itinerary perfectly. Would stay here again.

We did not use the breakfast offers, but the lication of this hotel is by far the best in Porto!! Directly on the Douro River .. views are simply amazing!!

Small little hotel

It’s in a perfect location reasonably priced and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. We stayed two weeks and looking forward to our next visit.

Great location and wonderful staff. We were just a little disappointed that our room did not have the print doors as shown on their website. It turns out there are only a few room rooms without amenity, even though of the room without it are given the same classification.

The staff was amazing with communicating with us regarding how to check in as our check in time approached. The building was beautifully designed and right on the water. The staff was amazing. Parking was expensive but convenient. Loved the location! Wonderful stay!
