A charming, classic hotel from another time. Beautifully maintained.

The Colonial is not as advertised. It is outdated at best. After arriving to a 40 degree room, I attempted to turn on the heat and was hit with a cloud of dust. My allergies were immediately aggravated. The overall smell was a bit musty. The drapes did not shut all the way. There were sheers in the middle that don’t offer much privacy. We were made to pay for the entire stay up front - I now know why. We decided to leave and were told that they would not even refund the second night. The hotel was nowhere near full. So we didn’t even stay one hour and were charged for the whole weekend. I understand not refunding the first night but refusing to second night is bad business. I very respectfully requested the refund and the hotels response said that they placed me in a non- pet room per my request, attempting to create a story about my allergy complaint. I don't have pet allergies and never requested a non-pet room. Do better. Fair is fair.

Staying at colonial hotel inbetween our wachusetts runs never disappoints. With great food, cozy atmosphere and decor, gym, pull and arcade, what else can one traveling with kids can ask for!

Staff was good, room was ok. Restaurant had terrible service and hot tub was out of service. I was expecting a much better stay for almost $400 a night!

The rooms were as advertised online. The staff were helpful when I requested additional items to the room. The pool area was not great, had very limited seating, and unfortunately the hot tub was not working and no information was shared other than a sign at the pool area. The manager accepted our feedback about the hot tub and resolved this with the people in my group.

Great location near Wachusett Mountain, which made it very convenient for a ski trip. The rooms were very nice and the beds were comfortable, which we appreciated after a long day on the mountain. Unfortunately, we were extremely disappointed that the hot tub was not working and the pool was freezing cold. The main reason we booked this hotel was specifically for the pool and hot tub for our kids. We didn’t receive any email or heads-up from the hotel ahead of time that the hot tub was out of service, which resulted in some very upset children. After swimming in the cold pool, we promised them a warm bath, but unfortunately the bath water came out brown, which was another frustrating issue. The walls are also very thin. We could hear people running and walking above us late at night and early in the morning, which made it difficult to sleep. We ended up eating dinner at the Colonial Grill. The food itself was good, but we were told the kitchen was backed up and expected a long wait. Ironically, the wait ended up being about an hour anyway, but after a full day of skiing it wasn’t really an option to pack the kids back into the car and go somewhere else. On a positive note, we spoke with a manager about the issues with the pool and hot tub, and they gave us vouchers for breakfast the next morning, which was appreciated.

Room was large, clean; staff are always pleasant and helpful. I always enjoy my stay and take advantage of the pool and sauna.

This property needs a serious update. The property looks tired. Attempted to use the fitness room and it was dirty and much of the equipment was unusable. The pool and jacuzzi were closed and looked disgusting. The common areas and room felt unclean

The room was clean though a bit depressing. The curtains and carpet could use a refresher as could the paint in the hallways and in the room. The evening front desk clerk seemed a little scattered and he couldn't be bothered with client service. The morning staff was courteous and helpful.

Extraordinarily unaccommodating with the reservation and working with Expedia to amend it. The front desk team ranged from polite to rude. Sadly I do not wish to give them my business again.

Great venue. Excellent workout area, pool, hot tub and sauna. Great restaurant on the premises. Great place to stay
