We liked the art deco style of the hotel. Our room was clean but tired - curtains not fixed properly to the rail, bathroom floor worn. The beds were comfortable and the room was serviced daily. Food in the restaurant was excellent. Parking a bit difficult due to an Opal Festival closing the street. We were looking forward to the artesian spa but the heater was broken.

The property is old but ok. The room had twin beds which was ok and had a door out to a shared balcony. The 2nd bed wasn't placed so the person could watch tv, so DH turned the matress around. Unfortunately we were woken up at 6:20am with the fire alarm going off telling us to evacuate immediately. We quickly dressed and prepared to leave when a gal came to the door saying it was a false alarm. It's an old building, and sometimes someone having an early shower sets the alarm off. Really? Anyway i'd still recommend staying here. Oh forgot, they also have an elevator so you don't have to pull your luggage up all the steps to the first floor.

Friendly staff, great facilities, reasonably priced

Hotel rooms are old and we had some water stains on the ceiling from leaks but overall it was comfortable and convenient with bar, entertainment and restaurant downstairs. No noise from the later in room. On a plus side your staying in a slice of history.

Convenient & clean

Room is what you would expect for an old pub but plenty of space. Disappointed that there was no hot water or pressure in the shower - glad it wasn’t winter. Meals at the restaurant are quite reasonable.

Staff were freindly… no complaints about the meals ,rooms were clean but felt bit dated and our bed was a bit lumpy , mattress needed replacing . We love the history of the place and will stay again .

This unique art deco hotel on the main street in the small town of Winton, is a classic. Rooms are good, dining room menu and meal excellent and the bar is pretty good too.

The rooms are all on the second floor and there is no lift. The staff is friendly and very helpful. The accommodation is very dated and is above a pub/restaurant so you can hear everything downstairs. You can hear everything in the adjoining rooms, and they can hear you. Fine for a short stop but not a comfortable stay.

Situated right in the heart of amazing Winton. My 5th trip and never tire of this place. The grand old lady is indeed old, however was clean, convenient and friendly. Disappointments were the lift wasn't working meaning we couldn't unpack the car fully, also the ever present sulphur smell seemed to be stronger this visit

This is a lovely old hotel with plenty of character. It has added a small elevator that take you to the upstairs are in the courtyard. There is convenient access to a public laundry. A small pool/large spa is located at the back corner of the courtyard. There is a small stage with live entertainment some evenings. This can be a negative issue as the rooms wrap around the courtyard area and the live performances can be a bit disturbing if you have had a long day of travelling. It is conveniently located in the main street of the town with close access to all business. There is access to the upstairs balcony that looks out over the main street of the town. All in all, this is a lovely place to stay.
