Stayed here several times. Always clean and tidy, helpful staff and excellent food.

The Crown Hotel is in a quiet village. The name Hotel possibly leads you to believe something different to what this place is. That's not a moan but I would think more like B & B above a lovely old pub. The room was up 2 flights of stairs. Don't expect air conditioning but it did have a fan, blinds, curtains and windows so even though it was 28/29 degrees the room was still cool. The shower was excellent. I would take your own shower gel because although you are provided with a small sachet of body wash it may not be enough for some. All in all the room had all of the basics that you need. The food here is wonderful and plentiful. Breakfast was a stand out for us. The lady serving was friendly and we liked the fact that we had our toast while we were waiting for our cooked breakfast. The food was locally sourced and the sausage in particular was great. Well done to the Chef's 👨‍🍳👩‍🍳 We had a fantastic stay and would definitely recommend if you are in the area. 😊

Good food

Great food, reasonably priced. Bonus was the breakfast started at 6am as we needed to leave before 7am each morning.

Room was immaculate! Full of charm, you feel like you’re going back in time stepping into the rooms. Breakfast was excellent, staff was very friendly and helpful. Will definitely look into staying here again if I come back to this area.

Such a surprisingly large pub and accommodation with plenty of parking. The Crown is a very interesting pub built into a hill so multi level. Staff were very polite and helpful.

Excellent place to stay. Food was very good and plentiful. The room was spacious and very clean. This was our 6th time staying here and have booked again for August.

The property is at a very calm place and has been running since 1650 which is amazing fact. The room I’ve stayed in was a attic converted into a room. The room and bed was good but felt a old smell which needs made it feel that it needs a room freshner across the rooms and houses. There was good and spacious car park and within 10-15 min drive from lot of English heritage sites. I would like to see a bottled water in rooms along with towels as it felt wrong to grab water from sink. The staff were very supportive especially during the breakfast they were very attentive and supportive. Breakfast had some good veg options but would love to see some vegan options as well which was missing.

Excellent stay. Staff were superb along with the food and drink on offer. Maybe some healthier options would be a suggestion, plus the heating was constantly on full through the building. Money saving opportunity here. Definitely recommend.
