Hotel is full of character and charm. Room size was great, enormous bed and pretty comfy. Because it's an older hotel, you do get some creaking floorboards/period furniture but I found that added to the charm. I arrived at around 930am and was able to check-in straight away. It is a little walk say 15/20 mins to the main restaurant area but there is a restaurant attached and a supermarket and ATM 5 mins away. I didn't get breakfast included in my stay but items on the menu were reasonable. I went during rainy season when the hotel was pretty quiet so it felt like I had the hotel to myself. The staff spoke good English and the main lady at reception - unfortunately I didn't catch her name - was fantastic. I would stay here again. As an aside, Grab/Uber doesn't operate in Laos so I would recommend downloading Loca for taxis. A ride to/from the airport is extremely reasonable and you can pre-book. I used Green Discovery Laos for trips and found them to be very helpful/reasonable.

This little gem of a hotel is located less than 1 km from the river front where there is a night market every day, and occasional celebrations, parties and so on. On the main road near the hotel there is an amazing little fruit-shop that also makes some splendid food. And the breakfast buffet has all the necessities, and a wonderful homemade yoghurt! The hotel's food, by the way, is of an impeccable (tasty!) standard! The rooms are full of character - obviously, it isn't a spanking new hotel, and doesn't try to be, but it is super charming and well worth a visit for a quiet stay in Vientiane.

The hotel is quaint and nice. The staff was very helpful. The breakfast was delicious. We thought there was a pool, but there wasn’t.

Everything was fine with my stay. The rooms are little old and need some rennovation. Beutiful little place close to everything but away from crazy noise. It was a very relaxed stay.

This is our third visit to the Mandala. We enjoy the location although it is a twenty minute walk to the center. We were disappointed to find their excellent French restaurant had closed. However we discovered that Boris Bakery is a sort walk away. Great coffee and croissants, lovely garden setting. Our room was clean and comfortable. We rested well after walking all over Vientiane

I enjoy the possibility to make my own real coffee in the room, i like less when the upstairs neighbor flush the toilet and it makes bubbles in my toilet.

Lunch was very expensive at hotel. They could have taken care to reduce the mosquitoes in hallway outside my room. Hotel front desk want super friendly, but still responsive and helpful. I would still consider staying here again though! Clean, nice location, no need bugs :).

The Mandala has pleasant landscaping and good size rooms. It's comfortable but nothing special. The French restaurant on the premises is good and a welcome respite after our long day of travel.

Is a good place compared with the others city hotels.. Vientiane is an expensive city if you are looking for western standard accomodations. The hotel is outside the city center so you need to take a 2' transport to get there. The staff is very gentle. The room (suite) is quite big and has an old "colonial" charme furnitures but airconditioning is very noisy and hot water needs time to come. The restaurant is good but expensive with a very good wine selection. Many rich western Who live in the city come to eat there. I would go again because of the poor possibility of other choices.
