Authentic alpine hotel in historic buiding, completely renovated. Beautiful rooms, spotless with excellent service. Easy access to St. Gallen with public transportation or by car.

Lovely hotel in a small town with all the essentials (bakery, grocery store and restaurants). Easily accessible to Appenzell. The hotel interior was a light wood, pleasing art, the best restaurant and cafe (indoor and outdoor) in the area. The only problem with our room was that the ceilings were sloped with rafters and I particularly, kept hitting my head. I finally adapted a crouch type gait to avoid it. Also, lighting in bedroom not great.

Very comfortable room, nicely decorated. Would stay here again if in the area in the future.

Reception war bei unserer Ankunft unbesetzt obwohl Hotels.com uns vorweg die genaue Personal-Anwesenheit zeitlich mitgeteilt hatte. Telefonisch, vor Ort, konnten wir die Hotelmitarbeiter nicht erreichen und somit auch nicht in unser Hotelzimmer um 15.00 Uhr einchecken. Der Zugangs-Code wurde uns, wie versprochen, auch nicht vor Reiseantritt mitgeteilt. Zumindest haben wir später einen Rückruf vom Manager selber erhalten. Danach war unser Aufenthalt angenehm. Gutes Frühstück - nettes Personal.

A fantastic, beautiful gasthaus with amazing sweet and helpful staff. The room was modern in its own gasthaus way. We woke up to a lavish breakfast. We are for sure coming back!
