Casa Mar is the most charming little resort perched above a very secluded beach outside of Paraty. It felt like we had our own semi private villa complete with staff who cooked breakfast to order each day. The beach below was a great place to hire a private boat tour to the nearby beaches, swimming, snorkelling and lunch and saw turtles on our way back. The use of the kayaks for guests was a bonus. We paddled over to the restaurant nearby for lunch one day. We saw dolphins in the distance from the deck at the resort. This was a perfect place for the end of our 24 day journey throughout Brazil. It has a beautiful view of the water and is a great location to enjoy the sunrise.

Casa Mar, and everything about the experience was exceptional. The property itself was beautiful, offering a serene, laid-back atmosphere that made it easy to relax and unwind. One of the highlights was the nearby beach—it was wonderfully secluded, far from the usual crowds, providing a peaceful and private escape. The sunrises were absolutely breathtaking, with vibrant colors lighting up the sky and reflecting off the calm water. It was a perfect way to start the day. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the overall vibe of Casa Mar was exactly what we needed for a tranquil getaway. Highly recommend!

I loved that the complimentary use of kayaks on the property. My boyfriend and I made use of them every day we could: to watch the sunrise from the water or to just paddle over to a nearby beach bar. The honor-system snack bar was a nice touch too. This place was exactly what I was looking for after a couple of hectic days at carnaval in Rio. Great location within an easy drive of Paraty, great view overlooking the fishing and excursion boats in the bay, outstanding breakfast and very clean rooms.

The property by itself was fantastic. Flavio, Mauricio and the rest of the staff very friendly and helpful. Mauricio arranged a boat trip around the islands for us that we enjoyed very much. We will come back for sure.

Beautiful boutique hotel, a perfect setting for a tranquil stay outside the lively town of Paraty. Exceptional views and a very relaxed atmosphere made you feel completely at home. The surroundings were safe and the owners speak English - they were incredibly helpful organising transfers etc. Lovely breakfast and honesty bar set-up works really well. Everything was clean and the decor is beautifully finished. 10/10 and I'm already planning my next visit!

The hotel is extremely beautiful, thoughtful, well appointed with the best view of the sunset and moon rise. Close to beautiful water where you can take out a kayak (for free) and paddle to surrounding islands and beaches. The owners were incredible, they helped me book activities and made me feel as if I was at home. The staff was more than friendly, they were the perfect hosts. I will absolutely come back to Casa Mar Paraty, it was a dream experience from start to finish.

Beautiful surroundings, calm, private, close to the beach. Fantastic breakfasts, fabulous rooms with bamboo balcony overlooking the gardens or the sea. Extremely good natured helpful staff - especially Gustavo - one of the owners. Beautiful pool on the top of the hills overlooking the beach and rain forest. Cannot fault it - this was truly a beautiful place to stay with lovely staff, excellent rooms beautiful location. We saw a school of dolphins in the bay, parrots and humming birds in the luscious gardens. Quiet, peaceful, a real tonic - Thank you

I stayed at Casa Mar Paraty with my wife for 3 nights in December. Gustavo the owner ( who speaks great English) was fantastic, he really made our stay very painless by arranging transportation to and from the hotel in addition to booking fun activities during our stay. All his recommendations were excellent. The pictures of the facility on the web site are truly representative of the facility and location, the breakfast that Gustavo’s mother and the staff prepare for guests is top notch, fresh local fruit, fresh baked breads, customized eggs etc all served on the beautiful outdoor patio overlooking the harbor. The hotel is an easy short 10min ($12) cab ride from Paraty, were glad that we made the decision outside town away from the crowds.
