Wow! High class, great service, great food, amazing staff! From the time we set foot on property, we were treated like royalty! The room was large and well appointed. The canopy bed was something! Do note that the location is up on the hill/mountain so you will most likely need transportation (e.g., taxi) to get there. You can easily find a taxi at Atami Station. I guess you can walk but it's pretty steep. Walking down is not a problem unless you have luggage in tow. We walked down the next day with no issues.

Friendly staff and clean/comfortable rooms. On site food is very expensive and the hotel sits at the top of a very steep & long hil that may be difficult for many to walk.

Wonderfully warm welcome by the staff, who took excellent care of us throughout the visit. Convenient central location despite slightly inconvenient access up a steep hillside — but the beautiful view made it worthwhile. Everything about the hotel was calming and serene. We will be very happy to return again.

Great property! I go in excellent shape only walking to and from it daily. Steep walk (okay for me I’m 34) but if you were older or have any trouble walking, a taxi is for sure needed.

We hughly enjoyed our stay. The room and bathhroom were spacious and the staff went out of their way to make us comfortable, including preparing our room early. It is about a 20 min walk (uphill) from the town, so you may want to rent a car or be prepared to take taxis to and from.

Great friendly service, great food, and very quiet private space!

The staff went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful, the indoor hot springs was exactly what I wanted along with a view of the Fireworks. I gave a 4 to the convenience of shopping is you are up a hillside, but they can call you a ride and and is very easy to get. You can walk but it’s a one lane and can be scary, so I would just call a ride. Even checking out was a pleasure, your team at Resort work very hard and it was an amazing experience. Thank you very much.

The room was amazing. Very spacious and well kept. The private onsen was very relaxing and cozy. The hotel staff was very courteous and helpful. The restaurant staff was pleasant and accommodating to my wife’s allergies to certain foods. We’re definitely booking our next stay at Relax Resort Hotel.

Just what we needed after 5 hectic days in Tokyo. Dining was first-class.

Stunning ocean view (especially at sunrise) from your room. The staff are very kind. One advice to travelers: Take a taxi at Atami station to this hotel.

Nice and quiet location with very attentive staff. The onsen was smaller than expected, but the lack of a crowd made it pleasant.

The staff were very accommodating and friendly. They were working so hard to make our stay memorable and their intention to make a luxurious stay was known. Those going to expect authentic Italian food may be disappointed but the food was very good. There is a restaurant in Vancouver that does Japanese and Italian fusion that has a Michelin star but the food here is better and fresher. Can't beat Japanese fish caught on the same day paired with Italian wine. The in room onsen with real onsen water was a treat. After 10 days of city hopping, I felt relaxed and calm. I would stay there again . There are reviews that the hill is too hard to climb but I suggest that guests take a taxi. The entire city is built in steep hills so you cannot say this one hotel is bad without mentioning the region. Think Amalfi or Cinque Terre and you get the Italian feel with Japanese flair. I've been to both and have Italian family and have lived in Japan so I'm confident in my review that this meets my experiences and expectations. Great stay!

Our overall experience is very good！The room has great view, is clean and has all nice little things you could possibly need. I enjoy the morning sunrise time, listening the sounds of nature, watching the goat eating grass in the yard , facing the Buddhist temple on the opposite hill, close to the nature, I can see the owner sets high standards and try hard to provide high end service.
