Set within 12 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens in the southern Cotswolds, Whatley Manor is a refined country house hotel that blends traditional charm with "modern" luxury. From the moment you arrive via its tree-lined driveway, the property feels both grand and welcoming—a hallmark of a well-executed English countryside retreat. The hotel offers just 23 rooms and suites, which creates an intimate, uncrowded atmosphere. Rooms are spacious and individually styled, with classic features like wood panelling and fireplaces. Comfort is a strong point, with large beds, quality linens. Dining is a major highlight. The relaxed Grey’s restaurant provides comforting, well-executed dishes. The overall culinary experience is widely praised. One of Whatley Manor’s standout features is its spa. The Aquarias Spa offers hydrotherapy pools, treatments, and a calming environment that complements the tranquil gardens. Combined with immaculate grounds and peaceful surroundings, it makes the hotel particularly well-suited for a relaxing escape or romantic getaway. Service is generally warm, professional, and attentive, contributing to the hotel’s polished feel. Cleanliness and upkeep are consistently praised, reinforcing its reputation as a high-end property. Overall: Whatley Manor is a sophisticated and tranquil Cotswolds retreat that excels in atmosphere, dining, and spa facilities. It’s ideal for couples or those seeking a peaceful, indulgent countryside break.

Beautiful building, and grounds The whole building smelt delightful Dinner in the Greys was delicious Service exceptional Room clean and well stocked Only slight negatives would be my partner would have liked a firmer bed pillow and the laid out breakfast looked as if it had been out a while, the fruit was on the turn and the cheese started to go hard. The ordered cooked breakfast was scrumptious.

Very nice grounds. Terrible signage. We couldn't work out how to get in in our car. Parking wasn't clear. Reception wasn't signposted. It didn't start our evening off well. Instructions in an email would have been appreciated. Service was very good. Atmosphere was good. The seven course tasting menu was great. I had asked for a birthday candle in my husband dessert which I was promised. It didn't appear which was disappointing. It was a lovely evening even with the hiccups at the start

Super afternoon tea served in front of the fire at 1330 on 29 October 2025! The team member who served us was confident , well-trained and very welcoming. The tea was superb! Probably the best we’ve had anywhere we’ve ever travelled! My only suggestion concerns outdoor signage for non-residents which might be described as discreet! However, we eventually found the small button that opened the doors to the courtyard! Fortunately, we were provided with a map so that we could enjoy the gardens on our way back to the car park! Once again, as a birthday gift, the whole experience was superb!
