I found later I had been charged €20.40 for local taxes, which is far too much for one night and the invoice sent through Expedia said it would be only €1.69. This needs to be investigated and either explained or refunded appropriately. Room was beautifully clean and the hotel generally well maintained. Very convenient for transport as it's right opposite the station and bus and tram stops.

Great staff, Thomas at the front desk was just phenomenal and very accommodating. The room was a good size and most importantly, had a wonderful air conditioner. Property well located.

Just across the street from the train station. Underground parking available at the station ( we paid 16 euro for an overnight stay). The hotel is very basic and dated. Bathroom was in bad condition ( stained basin, stained toilet and shower very small with a yellowish curtain…) Bed quite uncomfortable. The receptionist was lovely but we won’t stay again. Other budget hotels we used were in much better conditions

Good hotel, decent rooms and good beds. The website said parking is free but it is NOT. Parking only possible in the station parking nearby but is expensive. Not nice it was advertised wrongly.

Lovely time in Besançon! Hotel was a few steps away from train station Besançon Viotte and a pleasant walk to centre of town. Staff were veey nice and helpful.

It was nice and clean, and spacious. It would have been nice to have a coffee maker in the room, but not a big deal. I would definitely consider staying there again.

This Ibis Budget is conveniently situated opposite the central station, handy for exploring Besancon. Rooms are prefictable, fairly spacious with a large bed and good bathroom with shower. Quiet and felt safe as a woman travelling alone.

This hotel is really starting to look scruffy and worn out. Some poor repairs and general dirtiness lets it down badly. And the check in process is slow and cumbersome.

Typical Ibis. Sad but functional. My room was on the top floor with a decent view and very quiet. The staff were very nice. This Ibis is across the street from the station and convenient if you have an early train.

We came to Besancon to visit my wifes family church. Rental car place across the street, Train station across the street, main bus and trams you guessed it across the street. We didn't speak french very well and they didn't do English very well but we had fun making it work. Only down side the bed was very hard but we are just used to a softer mattress. Loved out stay.
