A convenient hotel for those about to use the Ferry. Benefits from garage availability but this is quite expensive per night (adds 20%) to the cost. Un-usable wi-fi which cuts out every few minutes. Free breakfast is just OK. Very hard to find the hotel unless you have a sat-nav. Locality is noisy with a family play square outside the windows. Clean rooms, helpful staff. Avoid in hot weather as there is no air conditioning in the rooms

The initial receptionist (male) was distinctly unhelpful to a point of being obstructive when giving instructions to the hotel garage which is easy to access. However, the rest of the staff were a little better.

We have stayed here several times before. The Hotel is past it's glory days and is looking a bit shabby. The staff are really nice and helpful and it is only a five minute drive to the Port for the Ferry back to the UK. There is an underground car park which Is chargeable per night which is totally secure and gives peace of mind when the car is full of luggage and duty free. The Hotel restaurant has been taken over by a third party and there is no longer Direct access from the Hotel. It is now more of a cafe than a restaurant and does not serve meals as such apart from a menu del dia which was black rice and octopus on our visit. To eat an evening meal we were forced to travel to the local Santurzi port area where there were several good eating places. Everywhere apart from bars are closed in the vicinity of the Hotel in the evening. Fortunately it was only one stop on the Metro from the station opposite the Hotel. Breakfast is a cold buffet served in the breakfast room which was pretty limited.

The hotel itself is very nice. The rooms are very comfortable. It's very close to Bilbao Ferry. We have been coming here for the past 11 years on our way back from Moraira. We saw one man on reception. Who was very nice and helpful. The biggest downfall is, last year they closed the restaurant adjoining the hotel. We asked where the nearest restaurant was. There was one. We walked for 20 minutes down the steep hill in the direction we were told. We found one restaurant, but they were not serving any food and didn't even have any tapas. Think they only do Menu Del Dia at lunchtimes. ( True we didn't walk much further on, down to the sea front, which was still going downhill. - Which meant we would have to walk all the way back up again.) there were lots of bars, that did not serve food. So we ended up buying a bottle of wine, cheese and biscuits from a supermarket and taking it back to our room. Very disappointed on that score. The San Jorge hotel's continental breakfast was very good. Would recommend the hotel definitely. Just wish they still had their restaurant.

Finding the entrance in to the hotel's car park was a bit of a challenge - the car park is changed on a daily basis - but there is plenty of space. Access to the Reception is via a lift which was a problem for my husband you doesn't go in lifts. A friendly welcome at the reception desk - the room we were allocated had a strong smell of smoke so we changed it to room 5 which still had a smell of smoke but not as bad. The hotel is over a bar so I suspect the smoke rises from the smokers sitting outside and all rooms have a smell. The room was a nice size with a large double bed. A nice size bathroom too with a bidet and plenty of hot water. Everywhere was clean and very tidy. Breakfast was included with the room booking but we did not realise this still the 2nd day as no mention was made when we booked in at reception. Breakfast was good and there was plenty of options to choose from. No limits to how much you can eat either which was rather generous. Close to public transport and only about 6km from the Bilbao Ferry terminal.

Hopeless service - the receptionist threatened to cancel my booking. I was standing at the reception whilst he was looking up my hotels.com booking. He wanted me to sit on the sofa across the room rather than stand at the reception desk while he looked up the booking. I was in a hurry so I said I'd rather stand at the reception and he threatened to cancel the booking and was intimidating for no real reason. He gave me the impression that he was racist - I am British Indian. Very strange indeed - I travel regularly all over Europe but never before have I come across unprovoked aggression When I went up to the first floor some repair work was taking place and a blow torch was on and there was smoke in the alleyways. The receptionist did however later apologise for his behaviour stating that he was under a lot of pressure with the bookings on his system. The hotel is some 20 km from Bilbao and is quite basic. It's like part of a block of flats. There is a parking garage for which they charge nine euros. Best to avoid

Water in the shower very unpredictable anddifficult to control. Wifi slow. Room was warm, no air con or fan. Location is in busy roundabout so too noisy. Not sound proofed. Breakfast is good. Reception gave good welcome.
