My trip to Sri Lanka was fantastic, i was there for a wedding of a friend who lives in Australia. After the wedding we had a few days to do things, we swam with the turtles in the sea at the local beach down the road from where we were staying, we also travelled to the elephant orphanage which was a fantastic time and we also went to the fort in Galle which is a lovely area. We only slept and had breakfast whilst staying at Ocean Villa Dew as we spent our time at our friends family villa during the day when not out and about. The 2 men that were running the villa were really lovely and friendly and would do anything to help you if you needed anything. They gave us bottles water when we needed it and breakfast was lovely too. The only thing i would say is that the place needs some up dating as it is not in the best condition and not looking like the pictures on this site. Would stay there again if i needed to.

As nice as the room looked it was dirty in place, ants everywhere. The hotel needed a good makeover. There was ants in the bathroom and the bathroom sink leaked, the hot water was hit and miss. The pool wasn't useable till 4 days into our holiday. The service was good.

The website misrepresents the villa. Ours was a room only, the shower was cold and there were no tea and coffee facilities. No choice for breakfast but a nice pool.

A great place to spend a few days with family or friends. A big beautiful swimming pool as well as beach access. Not ideal for solo travelers as there isn't much around the local area and there are definitely better places in any of the local towns to meet people. However, if you have a few people, you are in tuk-Tuk range to Galle, Hikkaduwa, and Unawatuna for day/evening excursions. The rooms are relatively clean, but you are pretty far out in the sticks, so the occasional insect may drop by to say hello. The layout is pretty great if you have enough people (2 rooms) to fill a floor. There's a great balcony on the second floor with a beautiful ocean view, a living room area, as well as a large table for meals. The beds are clean and the bedrooms have AC and of course your own bathroom. Might be a little expensive for the distance outside the city, but the pool/beach and huge living areas mostly make up for it. We had some minor water problems (hot water/water pressure) the first day, but they were quickly fixed and didn't have any other problems the rest of our 4 day stay.
