Beautiful setting on the riverfront and also an excellent location as close to the city wall & centre. Staff were friendly and rooms were lovely & clean. Would highly recommend if visiting Chester.

I liked the location right on the banks of the river also the free parking in a prime location. Didn't like the hit and miss breakfast, at our first breakfast everything was well overcooked almost inedible, but our second day breakfast was cooked to perfection ! go figure

Extremely clean, very helpful and professional staff. Excellent location. Unfortunately the wifi was very intermittent which meant I couldn't get my work done (I was in Chester on a business trip). This was a real problem for me. The room I stayed in was part of a modern block behind the pub, adjacent to the car park. Sometimes there were guests from the pub being loud, singing etc around closing time although this was short-lived.

Staff went above and beyond during heatwave and upgraded my room to a cooler room. 100% recommend.

Our first time in Chester and a 4 night stay in the Boathouse turned out to be a great choice. The location of the Boathouse is truly wonderful, with great accommodation, restaurant and bar and special thanks to Amelia who was so helpful in providing us her local knowledge. Highly recommended.

Great location and environment. We were placed in a accessability room that hadn't been cleaned thoroughly. There were dust and cobbwebs around the furniture. The bathroom floor/shower floor was dirty and had some mold.

I loved this property, its location, the room, the breakfast, the parking, the facilities. The only improvement would have been air con, but to be fair it was the hottest day of the year with temps above 30C. this would not put me off staying and I look forward to returning soon.

Amazing views Clean room with everything you need, TV,kettle,milk,tea, coffee etc... The breakfast was probably one of the best we've ever had... Free parking... Would definitely revisit...

Room was small with no airflow BUT what made our stay was the exceptional staff in the pub. They were so very caring, friendly and addressed my daughter’s multiple allergies with ease. It was very rare experience that way. Would visit again

We had a wonderful stay at The Boathouse! The location on the river and just a short walk from the city walls was absolutely perfect. No AC in the midst of a heatwave, but the open windows cooled the room down quite a bit. We loved the boathouse decor and our room felt so comfy and cozy. Staff were great and helpful. Breakfast was great and included our choice of a hot meal. It was also great to be able to keep our car there for a few hours after check out to spend some more time exploring the city. Chester is so beautiful!

Unfortunately, our first evening meal really set the tone for the stay. Our food arrived very late, despite us ordering before several other tables who were all served first. When the meal finally arrived, it was very poor and looked rushed together. A discount was offered, but that wasn’t really the issue — the wait was simply far too long. In the end, we chose to eat elsewhere afterwards. The room itself was nice enough, but the shower pressure was extremely weak and there was mould around the shower unit. There was also noise outside late at night from someone working on the roof, which didn’t help, although I appreciate that may not have been avoidable. On checkout, I spoke to a member of the restaurant staff as nobody else was around. I asked whether everything was settled and if there were any extra charges. He said everything was fine. I even asked if he should check properly, but he simply asked another person having breakfast, who just grunted that it was okay. What disappointed me most was that nobody asked how our stay had been. Had they done so, I would have happily explained politely that the mould needed cleaning and the shower pressure needed improving. Instead, I’ve ended up having to leave this review.

Breakfast was good. Allowed for variations. For example scrambled egg on toast in place of egg benedict. Croissants tray and fruit slices could be replenished when empty more frequently. Rated this stay as 9/10. If breakfast was 100% replenished i would rate as 10/ 10 Location fabulous. - short walk 10 mins through park to get to town Clealiness of room and room amenities excellent. Staff friendliness and quality of service excellent. Security of car park excellent As mentioned overall rating 9.5 / 10 Would stay again Would recommend to others

It’s in a great location in the centre of Chester, right on the riverside. Beautiful views. Friendly staff. Clean and modern room with an incredibly designed bathroom. Would definitely visit again!
