Wow - where to start? We had the most amazing stay at Universal Hotel Marques. First of all the location is unbelievable: the only hotel in Colonia de Sant Jordi with this prime location: sea on three sides, and the last hotel before the start of the beach (Es Coto public beach which is part of the bay with the stunning Es Trenc beach). You cannot beat this location. We had a sea view room on floor 1 which overlooked the pool and then the sea - so stunning, plus private sun loungers as well as table and chairs on our large balcony. The hotel have thought of everything: free wifi, free cold water refill stations throughout the hotel and so many hooks in the rooms (so necessary to avoid tossing clothes on the bed, there were hooks everywhere). Next the food: we stayed half board and the buffet was excellent! At least 25 dishes plus show cooking fresh food at breakfast (omelettes) and dinner (fish/meat). The dinner food included pates, fruits, salads (change daily), fish, meat, lasagne, pizza, pasta, paella, chips, potatoes, cooked vegetables, soup and multiple desserts. The bar drinks were also very good and strong and we received welcome drinks our first night. The best thing about the bar is outdoor seating that wraps around the hotel for sea and beach views - stunning! There were very few negatives: no door on the bathroom area and a window to the shower cubicle from the bedroom so privacy is a problem depending on who you are sharing with. Short 3 night break was very enjoyable , hotel spotless nice room , beautiful views , fantastic food ,great friendly staff always had a smile , hotel right on top of a amazing beach perfect location for a relaxing brake ,would definitely stay again

Lovely hotel and very helpful staff. Could do with an outside tap/shower by the beach to avoid bringing in sand from the sea.

Nous sommes ravis de notre séjour de 2j à l'hôtel L'emplacement est idyllique, les pieds dans l'eau. Le personnel est extrêmement accueillant et sympathique Les chambres très propres et fonctionnelles. Si on doit trouver un petit point négatif, c'est la place de parking pour la voiture en journée, mais sinon tout est parfait, bravo !

Get the sea view balcony rooms - stunning!

Staffs were really nice and helpful. We were disappointed due to cleanliness of the room, there were hairs from previous guests on the floor and there was dust on the wardrobe shelves. And also the mattress, it was not comfortable, I have not slept well. Also you had to pay to use the Sun lounger by the swimming pool.

I cannot recommend enough the Universal Hotel Marques, initially for it’s perfect seaside location, with two lovely beaches and a great swimming pool to chose from, then for the highly professional and most welcoming staff for whom nothing is too much effort to make you feel at home. Nice bar overlooking the sea, with a good choice of food and drink, the cocktails being recommended. The hotel has great and stylish facilities, top 4 stars and still a “beach hotel”. The food is absolutely delicious and the menu varies daily. Plenty of entertainment all day long and in the evening, there’s always something going on. The rooms are comfortable and sport great sea views, plus the daily most awaited show in Colonia Sant Jordi - the gorgeous sunset from your room balcony! Well done Universal Hotel Marques, many thanks for looking after us and looking forward to our next stay!

One iron for the whole hotel- a rubbish one too. With a TINY ironing board. They automatically add unicef donation to your bill- this should be optional. NO drinks included with half board dinner and with breakfast the orange juice is diluted and the water tastes funny. Not much range for the buffet food.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay - the staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. The location - out of the centre of town and right on the water - was relaxing and idyllic. The boardwalk/promenade around Colonia de Sant Jordi begins right outside the hotel, so it's perfect for a walk. The breakfast buffet was varied and plentiful - I especially appreciated that they had soya milk without me having to ask! Unless you've booked to have lunch and/or dinner included, I would maybe skip those - while it was definitely convenient, and would be helpful for families staying at the hotel, the food wasn't that interesting.
