Out of the three hotels we stayed at in Reykjavik, this was THE BEST! Clean, modern, fantastic location, and delicious breakfast included. Yes, the rooms are small, but most hotel rooms on this City are also. Still comfortable. Very happy that we got to stay here. Definitely a great location and close to all of the major attractions and transportation.

Nice hotel. Nice vibe. But NOISY at night time from street life. Also the blackout curtains weren’t too…effective.

We had a great stay at Sand Hotel. The location is right on a pedestrian shopping street full of restaurants, bars and coffee shops. (For an unforgettable meal, book a dinner reservation at the Old Iceland Restaurant.) All the local attractions are no more than a 15-20 minute walk, max. The hotel's complimentary breakfast buffet had lots of delicious choices. Rooms are comfortable with modern, tiled bathrooms. Staff are helpful & efficient. Easy access from Keflavik airport on the FlyBus - get off at stop #14, and the hotel is less than a 5 minute walk.

Great location and friendly, helpful staff. Breakfast was great but didn’t eat any other meals. It needs some updating as paint is chipping on hallway walls, handle fell off bedroom door and bed is pretty stiff. Definitely can hear street noise but was fine with earplugs.

We stayed 3 nights. Communications before our trip were great! Room was clean, comfortable bed/pillows. Good breakfast options, staff were courteous. Staff though at the reception area can improve their interaction with guests by adapting more heartwarming approach starting with genuine smiles and make you feel you are not wasting their time with questions about the area. We stayed at another hotel for 1 night after our cruise and so much difference with our interaction with the front desk. Hotel overall was a good choice.

Excellent service and lively location. The breakfast was delicious, and its staff was charming and helpful. One caveat in the rooms: our bathroom had granite floors and walls. There were no rails or grab bars. Although beautiful, it was VERY slippery when wet. Be extra careful! We would stay here again without hesitation and recommend The Sand Hotel to others.

We had a wonderful night at the Sand and an even better morning because their breakfast was amazing! A little hard to find the entrance because it’s tucked away off the street but other than that we had a wonderful stay! Staff was so helpful and kind.

The worst hotel experience I have ever had. I never write reviews but need to warn others to stay away from this hotel. We flew in overnight from New York and had booked 2 rooms for our family. Our room #229 was located in a wing of the hotel that backed up to a bar that played constant very loud live music . The room was shaking from the music and it continued late into the evening. It was impossible to sleep despite being exhausted after being awake for nearly 36 hrs. The representative said that it had been a problem for a while and that other guests had complained as well. They had no other rooms and would not refund us for the room as we had to leave the hotel that night and find another place to stay. They should not be renting out these rooms in this condition or at the very least warning guests prior to check in.

Sand Hotel was a "last minute" addition to our Reykjavik trip. This hotel did not disappoint. The rooms were spotless, modern, and super comfortable. Black out blinds were perfect and the beds were some of the best in Iceland. Super close to shopping, several restaurants and desert locations. I bit of walk (8-10 minutes) to the airport transfer pickup but it is all down hill so it is not a hard walk. Did I mention front desk staff here are amazing! Highly recommended.. Stay here!
