Amazing host. Took the time to teach us about the city, the lodging, and answer all questions we had. Only complaint was mold in the shower

Great location in front of a key bus route and a block from the metro station. Rui is the consumate professional, while congenial, host. Our room was up a short flight of stairs, facing an interior patio. Impeccably clean, spacious, with a beautiful exposed stone wall. Very quiet, with the occasional footfall from another floor. The room has a good kitchen with all one would need. You can buy coffee, chese, bread, wine, etc., at a market, less than a block down the hill. Ideal for a longish stay.

The place who’s clean the owner the hospitality was pretty good overall though the place was under construction. The sheet rock wasn’t put up. The walls weren’t completed. There’s no light in the kitchen. The water pressure is low and it’s a very small place and I really thought that it was over price for what compared to the other places that I stayed at, this is no offense to the owner. He was very nice and so was his assistant.

Warm welcome from the host who also provided us with a map and some recommendations for the city. Rooms were lovely and clean, would stay here again.

This is beautifully updated property that has lots of shops and cafes right outside or within short walking distances. The property manager was very friendly and communicated with us as our flights were re-routed and we arrived in Oporto later than planned. He also provided us with helpful recommendations on how to get around and restaurants to try. Given the central location, it can get a little noisy at times. I slept well but my partner, who is a light sleeper, needed to wear ear plugs. All in all a great stay. We would definitely stay here again.

We had an amazing stay at Casa da Figueroa! Rui kept in touch with me when we landed, gave us a list of his favorite restaurants to try and we went to 3 and they didn’t disappoint! The apartment was small but lovely, it had everything we needed! We would definitely stay here again!

I had the apartment pictured here, at the top of the house. It was lovely, very well equipped, very clean and very comfortable. The bed is on the road side and traffic goes on late, so earplugs are a help if you're a light sleeper. I had a great welcome from the property owner, Rui, who also guessed who I was after I walked past the door twice and came out from his office across the road to meet me, and gave lots of useful information about places to eat, visit and shop. The location is good: Lapa Metro station is about 2 minutes walk away (go down the ramp and walk straight down with the flats on the right) and I felt safe returning there even late at night. It's about a 20-30 minute walk downhill into the centre (I never tried doing it the uphill way!), and if you want the beach, the bus goes from just outside the door.

The host is very friendly. The room is very clean and comfortable. You can cook in the kitchen, it is very suitable for family. Highly recommend.

It would have been great to have at least a hot plate in the kitchen. It is difficult to find breakfast nearby so we want to prepare it ourselves.

We stayed 4 nights at Casa de Figueroa. I would recommend this place for all. Easy access to strict city centre, by metro or by bus. Bus stop is located just in from of the entrance! We were welcomed by very nice man, who gave as all necessary information and left for us his mobile number if any case. Room was great. Very comfy double bed, incredible clean, as rest of this house. Nice garden for a morning espresso available for guest. We couldn't want more.

Beautiful apartment. Walking distance to the centre. The manager was really helpful when we checked in, gave us a list of restaurants, a map.

This is a charming apartment-style inn — the area is safe, if mediocre in ambience, and is very convenient to transportation and shops. The inn keeper was was very hospitable and courteous. My room faced directly onto the street, so it was a bit noisy, but the apartment was spacious, very clean, and fully equipped. I would recommend the Casa and would stay there again.

Actually, I had a great experience besides being a host for just 2 days. As cleanliness is what I value the most, on that topic I can assure you they are on top. Thanks for the experience!
