Great history in this hotel. Roads were closed to original hotel and this hotel didn’t do anything less than be impressive! Excellent tasting menu! Views, and excellent staff rooms and spa! Thank you !

We had a wonderfull time, Raphael and the restaurant team were amazing. Oh, but. Raphael… hes is so charming. He is a keeper.

We had the most charming stay a the Lake Hotel Gistihusid in Eglisstadir. The room triple room felt like a full on apartment- it was spacious, modern, and cozy. We enjoyed access to the onsite Spa. The staff was responsive and friendly to all of our requests. Breakfast was a highlight- many options, with a lot of Icelandic influence. We dined at the restaurant for two evenings. We found the food delicious and very good value in comparison to other restaurant hotels we ate at in Iceland. Overall this was our best value stay in all of Iceland. We will definitely return to this hotel on our next tour of East Iceland.

Clean, spacious and quiet room with a lake view. Comfortable bed and great breakfast (included in price). Spa (sauna and hot tub) was nice, although was a small extra charge.

Clean room, friendly staff and nice restaurant!

This hotel is one of my favourite places to stay in Iceland. The room was quite spacious, the beautiful spa facilities meant we could relax after a long time of being in the car. We’ve stayed here twice now and would definitely come back should we return to Iceland. The lake behind the hotel is beautiful and we were lucky enough to see the northern lights there! Amazing place, definitely recommend.

Incredible breakfast friendly staff

Newly renovated room with modern finishes. Good view of the lake. Loved the heated floor in the bathroom and the little extra touch of makeup remover wipes. Breakfast was a wide spread of different options and delicious.

The breakfast was very healthy with good choices. We did not have time to use the spa so no comment there. Simply... it was a beautiful hotel... we were both sorry that we did not stay two nights.

Great location and beautiful hotel. I would definitely stay here again. The complimentary breakfast also was a game changer.
