Beautiful hotel in the heart of Carlisle. Staff was so pleasant & accommodating.

Clean room, staff very friendly and the building has real character.

Mattress had its day

Tiny bathroom with peeling paint on bath ,entrance to hotel looks fab ,our room was dingy ,over bed light one wasn’t working and it wasn’t the bulb .the lift is tiny and need a paint job .pool and jacuzzi was fine ,staff pleasant .but sadly won’t book this hotel again

Have stayed at the Crown and Mitre before, the standards very high, really enjoyed my stay.

Helpful and friendly staff. Room was excellent. Breakfast was great and plentiful. 5 minute walk from the train station. Ideal for anyone spending time in Carlisle

Spotless room Right in centre of town

Bad vibes, dated room decor didn't match pictures, kitchen smell everywhere. Stayed for an hour and left.

Toilet did not flush. room was very cold. food not great, Steak..... but not of any noticeable quality. Parking very difficult to navigate where it was. wont stay again

Warm and spacious comfortable room, helpful staff, pleasant ambience, conveniently situated.

It was perfect for what we needed it for, a stop off to break up the journey south from North Scotland. We loved the original features of the hotel, it was full of character. The staff were very professional and nice. We also checked in with our dog, Bella, which all went very well. The carpark is round the one way system by car so feels completely detached from the Hotel but in fact the back door of the hotel leads onto it. The room was a bit tired but comfortable and served us well for our stay.

This is an amazing hotel with excellent staff. It is a truly english experience. The “dated” aesthetic is not a negative. This is a true old beauty straight out of movies.

Room was large clean and tidy , shower was disappointing
