A great little hotel in centre of Belper with good food options in the bar.

Great hotel good value in the centre of a lovely market town

Overall it was an ok hotel. The location next to main rd and busy petrol station let's it down as it's an old building there's no sound proofing from the windows. The room also suffered noise from other rooms bathrooms backing on to it. I would specify a room that doesn't face the petrol forecourt if I stayed again. Continental breakfast Inc was ok.

Central hotel, recently refurbished. Free Parking behind the hotel, friendly staff and a decent breakfast, hard to find fault and good value as well.

Room was small but adequate with a comfortable bed. Unfortunately it was a hot weekend with no air-conditioning available. We took the quilt out of its cover so we could sleep under just the cover, and the quilt itself was badly stained, which gave a bad impression. When we mentioned this to reception they said they would "tell housekeeping". Generally the room decor was a bit tired. Continental breakfast was included which was fine. The pub is popular and has a good atmosphere, good beer, and a big beer garden. Car parking is convenient.

Clean room, quiet rooms overlooking the rear of the building

Room was clean, but property needs maintenance - peeling paint on room sash window, hook on bathroom door broken off and missing. Otherwise very comfortable, Continental Breakfast good and staff lovely.

Great stay. Slightly noisy at times due to the petrol station next door but excellent location and a great restaurant.

Nice continental breakfast, easy check in, clean room, comfortable bed, centrally located, easy walk from EMR.

Great atmosphere. Staff very efficient. Clean and tidy room and cleaned when we went out. Food amazing . Our family got together because of bereavement in the immediate area and we all stayed at there The Lion Hotel. It enabled us to get together and concentrate on our family. Couldn’t asked for anything more. Excellent!

No friendly welcome from the guy at reception, room has large damp stain on ceiling. Shower opening very small. Complained of noisy room at 10.15pm due to refrigeration unit outside bedroom window starting up every 5 mins .Sounded like a lorry with engine running . Asked for earplugs non available . Dressed at returned toi receptin at 12.10am to complain again as couldnt sleep for noise . Night porter switched off the noisy unit and then fired it back yp at 5.45 . Terrible stay in room one .

The bed wasn’t that comfortable but the room was spacious and clean everything we needed

Plenty of parking staff very friendly, room clean and comfortable, evening meal was excellent. Breakfast was also very good. Would definitely stay again.

Room was spotless , however it was above toilets which was noisy

The room was very noisy from the bar below and the road outside as the window was only single glazed. I would have given 2 stars, however the waiter at breakfast was fantastic, so helpful and attentive, he deserved an extra star

The staff are very friendly and polite and go out of their way to be accommodating. Check-in is simple, parking on site is a bonus and comfortable rooms to round things off.
