We had dinner tonight at the Royal exchange hotel. We are travelling with our dog so sat in the beer garden with a fantastic heater near us. Dinner was amazing I would highly recommend it. Without the dog there is a lovely fireplace inside ( which would be lovely).

Booked a double bed room with balcony for 2 nights. That's all there was! NO bedside tables, NO place to hang clothes, just a double bed. Couldn't see a power outlet. Certainly wouldn't step onto the balcony as you could fall through it. The toilet/bathrooms are less than adequate. Cracked tiles, old and not clean and quite small. The shared kitchen, filthy, I explained we couldn't stay as we need a fridge for medications, I was offered another room that had 3 beds! I WILL NOT recommend. I found elsewhere to stay the night and I'm out of pocket. Unfortunately there is not an option for zero stars.

This place is a bit of a hidden gem in the town of Burra. We stopped here for lunch as all the other pubs in town didn't do lunches on a Sunday. The lad on the bar that served up was super friendly and fast with the service. The food was super tasty and huge (compliments to the chef). Super cold beers is what I was after, and I found it here. Great beer garden and play ground for the kids. Highly recommend this place if in the area A+.

What a great country Pub. We stopped in for a couple of drinks and had a great chat with old mate behind the Bar. Probably the second sweariest barman I've come across this trip :) He gave us plenty of local gossip. We'll be back.

Classic country pub. Stopped in for lunch and glad we did. Good old fashioned country hospitality. Bar service was warm and welcoming. Ordered lunch and the servings were LARGE to say the least. Cooked to perfection. Ordered a coffee and was told that they don't serve coffee but the chef made one out of his own machine, I didn't have coffee but was told it was excellent. Can highly and happily recommend the Royal Exchange Hotel in Burra. Will be back for sure.
