We loved our stay here! The staff was amazing and the property was in a great location. We loved spending time with all of the cats running around outside. I definitely recommend doing the breakfast option because it was exceptional both mornings!

what an absolutely amazing place to stay the staff were so helpful they could not do enough for the room was beautiful and the best thing of all was the breakfast more than we could ever have needed and so lovely and well presented in addition to this if you’re a cat lover, this is the place for you so many cats outside and please donate to the cat sanctuary

Great one night stay at Hotel Mato. Traditional old Greek house where the lady owner was so helpful and friendly. We had a room at the top of the house (up a spiral staircase) which had a spacious balcony with amazing views of the port. Lovely traditional Greek breakfast. The location is fantastic for Skiathos old town and the ferry port. Would recommend (as long as you like cats - she has tons them! )

We loved our stay here. The host was so welcoming and friendly and the hotel is full of traditional local character. Lovely spacious rooms for a family with a large balcony. Breakfast was fabulous.

delightful family hotel. on typical narrow street with steps, so a little hard to find with suitcases. Owner very friendly, great breakfast . A/C a godsend.

The owner of this property is very sweet. We enjoyed our stay here because we aren’t too picky. However, you are greeted by around 8 cats that linger around property and the rooms itself are definitely not non-smoking. Very strong smoke smell, but that seems to be very common in Greece. EVERYONE SMOKES!! The location is great. Very close to town , port and all the nightlife. Parking is a beast. Took us 30 min to find a spot and then walked with all our luggage 15 minutes. But the rooms were clean and we were comfortable.

This is now our go-to place when we stay in Skiathos. Located in the Old Harbor area of the port, the hotel has a beautiful, old-style charm in its courtyard, lobby and dining/sitting room, and clean, fresh bedrooms and bathrooms, with charming modern furniture and fittings. Best of all, our wonderfully-kind hostess gave us a warm welcome and made us feel right at home. We just loved the entire stay... and next time we will plan on having breakfast there, because it looked divine, and we were very sorry we'd made other plans!

We had to cancel a week before going due to ferry cancellations bad weather and flight changes. We were unable to get a refund either thru expedia or the horel directly. This was very unfair. I have no review on the property since we were unable to go

Only a 1 night stop over. Friendly staff with good English. Very accommodating. Traditional hotel with a homely feel.

Fofi was a wonderful hostess with great info on Skiathos Town—best restaurants, where to find bazouki music, etc. This is her grandmothers home she used to visit as a child. Still had an old world charm but not for everybody. The breakfast was plentiful and always some form of eggs with yoghurt and fruit, etc. Not sure how well the air conditioners work in each room. That would be my only concern in July and August. Can only park 1/4 mile away. Taxis can get to 150 meters from the hotel; then walk bags down cobbled narrow streets to the hotel. But very convenient to great seaside restaurants and shopping area. Cats are a plentiful addition. If you’re allergic, not your place. We were very happy for our two nights before heading to a beach side rental on late May.

We had an amazing stay at Mato Hotel. The location was absolutely perfect, close to the old harbour and minutes from cosy restaurants with beautiful views. The beach wasn’t far away either! The owner, Fofi, provided excellent service and we felt at home from the moment we walked in. The rooms are basic but comfortable and very clean. Nice breakfast. Would stay there again!

A lovely hotel, very clean and welcoming. Good position with parking nearby and close to the old port of Skiathos with all it's bars and tavernas. Good views.
