After a week stay, I wouldn't recommend. The building is the city center, so it is understandable there will be some noise. However, I didn't expect the type of noise: there is a curve with stone surface and every car going makes a scratching noise, which is very loud especially at night. The windows let all the noise in. There is no parking, which I had understood there would be. If you rent a car, count with paying at least 10 euros per night in parking house. The staff recommended some free parking spots, which are usually completely full. There is some wear and tear, but also weird brown smudges on almost every piece of equipment. I belive they could have been cleaned. What was really dissapointing was the kitchen. It was full of ants with only few pieces of cookwear. The cupboards smelled awfully and I found moldy place mat in one drawrr. There was only 1 little pan, completely brown, scratched and damaged. We ended up not cooking at all. People often didn't clean up after themselves leaving dirty and greasy dishes. I could see that somebody put an effort to decorate the hotel and tried to make it nice, but it is just a first superficial impression. I also asked for the parking option and obtained a nice answer. However, I wouldn't stay here again.

The room itself was clean and seemed okay at first glance, but the hotel itself had a musty smell throughout. The window faced an inner courtyard that was dirty, moldy—definitely not something you'd expect or see in the photos online (which conveniently have the curtains closed). When I arrived, the room had a really strong bleach smell, which I assume was from recent cleaning. Without proper ventilation the smell lingered for a couple of days and gave me a headache. I contacted the hotel staff to see if I could switch rooms or at least get some help, but they didn’t offer any solutions or even an apology. I told them I was really uncomfortable and wanted to cancel the rest of my stay, but their response was “You can leave, but we won’t refund you.” Also the hair dryer and air con weren't working.

The establishment needs new bed sheets, as the current ones are very worn out - almost transparent from so much use. It also needs soundproofing walls and doors. Owner is probably very cheap. Other guests don’t respect the silence hours. I could hear someone snoring in the room next door and drunk guests arriving in the middle of the night. The team is really nice and the hotel is clean, good location.

Great location in downtown Ponta Delgada. The guest house is surrounded by shops, restaurants and historical buildings. The rooms are spotless and the beds very comfortable. Rainfall shower and lovely fluffy towels add to the comfort. A very well stocked shared kitchen is available if you prefer cooking to eating out. Thanks to all the staff for everything.
